I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mimi's Tavern and I must say, it was an absolutely phenomenal experience. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy, making me feel right at home.

Now, let's talk about the food. The culinary delights served at Mimi's Tavern were truly exceptional. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavors that tantalized my taste buds. Mimi's Tavern is on the main highway and easy to get to when driving in the direction of Chania. This cozy restaurant provides stunning views of the water, distant mountains, and a perfect sunset!

The decor is stone and wood, with many plants, and this helps to create an ambience that brings you close to nature. Don't miss the little garden between the seating area and bathrooms. There is also a small play area for children out there.

The food was fantastic! We had stuffed grape leaves, Greek salad, fried cheese, and chicken souvlaki. They also brought us toasted bread and a dip which was pureed tomatoes with olive oil.

The staff was amazing! Very friendly people ready to meet your needs. They speak English as well, so that helps us short-term travellers. We would visit Mimi's Tavern again and hope you will...

Words cannot describe how special this restaurant is! The food is obviously delicious (my favorites: wine leaves, moussaka and Greek salad), the view on the sea and the sunset, drinks, desserts, everything…

But most importantly- the hospitality of people working at Mimi’s Tavern is out of this world. I’ve never experienced anything close to this ever in my life. I recommend everyone to visit this beautiful place and have a chance to meet amazing people working there!

Now I’m thinking about returning back to Crete next year just to go to this tavern again…
