We were coming towards the end of our 2 week stay in Rhodes when we discovered Kalagris. Staying in Koskinou, we had eaten at the local tavernas and tried several in Faliraki. Bored of those, I turned to Tripadvisor to see what was recommended and this showed up. Being only 17 mins from Koskinou, we reserved a table via Facebook and off we went.
Immediately you could tell it was popular. Eating in Koskinou and Falaraki and quite often, we were the only people in the restaurant. Kalagris was full! Every table was taken. As people finished and left, others turned up. The town itself, Kremasti, had a good vibe to it, but Kalagris had a great atmosphere. The taverna itself was really nice with lovely lights hanging overhead and centerpiece trees lit up at night. It is what you might expect a Greek taverna on a postcard to look like.
Turning our attention to the menu and the prices were great. We haven't normally bothered having a starter because with 5 of us eating, the price usually hovered around e100 just for a meal and drinks. We had a starter, meal and drinks and the bill came to e70, a significant difference from the e125 we spent in Rhodes old town the previous night. The food itself was excellent. Very good quality and large portion sizes. Looking just like the pictures on their facebook page.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They greeted us like friends when we arrived, were attentive all evening and paid particular attention to my eldery mother-in-law, getting her a larger and more supportive chair with a cushion, all without being asked.
We stayed longer in this taverna than any other we've eaten in, primarily because of the atmosphere. My only regret is that we didn't discover this gem of a taverna earlier in the holiday! Not only would we have spent less money, we'd have had a much better time!
Do go. You don't know what you are missing if...

Kalagris in Kremasti is pure magic. From the moment you step into the lush, tree-covered courtyard, you’re wrapped in a warm and peaceful atmosphere — glowing lanterns hang from the trees, the soft breeze rustles the leaves, and every table feels like a special corner of paradise.
The staff are absolutely fantastic — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They strike the perfect balance of professional and personal, making you feel at home the moment you arrive.
Whether you’re looking for a full, satisfying meal or, like myself, just stopping by for a refreshing ice-cold Mythos and a plate of warm pita with creamy celery hummus, Kalagris is the place to be. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — every bite tastes like care and tradition.
There’s truly no better way to spend an afternoon or evening in Rhodes than sitting beneath the trees at Kalagris, enjoying great food, cold drinks, and the friendly company of both staff and fellow guests. Can’t...
Read moreFive stars are not enough to express how good Kalagris and its staff were to us. We arrived very late after our flight, and were delighted to find an extensive menu with very reasonable prices. The service was notably friendly from the start; we felt taken care of and comfortable. The female owner went above and beyond to help us when we encountered issues finding our way to the hotel, going out of her way to make sure we were okay despite it being so late. We felt it was only right to go back on our way to the airport, and we were greeted warmly. The atmosphere is so peaceful, and we enjoyed the food so much. I highly recommend the gemiste, giouvetsi, and feta with honey and sesame in particular. Many thanks to all of the staff for your hospitality and for making us feel...
