Restaurant Thalassa is part of the Kalithea Mare/Horizon Royal resort, functioning as the alternative to Restaurant Athena located at the resort's Eastern shore for both breakfast and dinner. We visited both restaurants multiple times during our stay and I have to say that I prefer Thalassa to Athena, even in spite of the latter's more romantic positioning with its view on the ocean. Both restaurants offer an abundance of food choices for virtually all diets and have quite some overlap in terms of the food they offer, but the diversity over multiple days is better at Thalassa. Thalassa covers multiple worldwide kitchens, with a different kitchen and style every day, wheras Athena generally stuck to a similar offering with small adjustments every day. The staff at Thalassa was also much more friendly to us as non-Germans, which are treated preferentially at Athena. I would like to specifically thank Julie and George, who prepared fresh seafood and region-specific specialties respectively, every day with the biggest of smiles! You are great cooks and amazing people, and have made our dinners at Thalassa that much more special. If you prefer daily variety and enthusiastic cooks over ocean-view and a very busy cocktail bar, be sure to try out Thalassa when you're staying at the...

Came for the lobster night with my husband and daughter. I had A La Carte as I don't eat fish.

From start to finish, it was a fabulous experience. We received a lovely warm welcome from Demitri (Thalassa manager for many years) as soon as we arrived and were seated at a lovely table. Amazing service from all the team (especially Kostas who was very attentive and pleasant to talk to) and the food was phenomenal. I had prawn saganaki to start which is one of my favourite meals-- it did not disappoint! I also had the ribeye steak which was huge! Delicious and perfectly cooked for my liking!

My daughter and husband loved the lobster night and thoroughly enjoyed every course. We all loved the desserts, so indulgent!

Would definitely recommend the experience to anyone to visit the Thalassa and Demitri and his...

They accepted us in the restaurant without a reservation. The restaurant is next to the beach separate from the hotel. The atmosphere was fantastic. It was fancy but still very cozy. The staff were friendly and very professional. They would refill our wine and water whenever it was needed. We had a 3 course meal. The dishes we ordered had a few simple ingredients, but the taste and plating was top tier. The highlight of our dinner as a greek person, visiting Rodos for the first time with my foreign boyfriend was the dessert. It was petit fours of traditional greek desserts. He had a chance to try different desserts in 1 plate and I felt a bit nostalgia tasting them. The price was maybe a bit more expensive but...
