What a rude and arrogant service! Even one star is a favor for them!
We entered the place and asked for a menu to check the prices. There the waiter almost started to get offended.
He was not pleased to see just a couple, I guess, since he started to serve another table with more guests before us, even though those guys came later than we did.
When we asked if the sea food was fresh, the waiter replied in an almost aggressive tone that everything they serve there was fresh.
When we were ready to order and the same waiter came, he saw two female friends of his and suddenly turned his back to us in order to have a chitchat with the ladies. We stayed there with our mouths we opened in order to give our orders and waited for the mister to end his small talk. It was a no go!
At that moment, we saw that on the menu it was saying that the minimum order limit per person was 20 €. We asked again what was meant by this, even though it was quite obvious, because we had never seen such an exercise anywhere.
That was it. We stood up and left the place.
Go there if you want to...

We were four friends, hungry and curious – and Psaras delivered. The grilled anchovies were simple and full of flavor, the grilled zucchini was perfectly textured, and the tzatziki – fresh and balanced, just what you crave on a summer evening in Samothraki. And the calamari? Tender, flavorful, cooked with confidence. Nothing overdone, just honest food done right.
The atmosphere? Casual but soulful. The kind of place where you feel like you’ve stumbled into a local secret you’ll want to share... but not too loudly. If you're in Samothraki and looking for real food with personality – and a host who knows how to start a memorable dinner...

EN: If I had to sum up what makes O Psaras special in one sentence, it would be this: a simple yet deeply respectful way of treating ingredients – resulting in a flavor we haven’t encountered anywhere else on the island.
The place is unpretentious and laid-back, like going to a friend’s backyard BBQ – except your friend happens to be a well-traveled sailor who can turn any ordinary fish into something absolutely unforgettable.
We were blown away by the house salad (we immediately ordered a second one), the smoky eggplant, and a big piece of freshly grilled fish. Nothing fancy, nothing overdone – just pure, honest flavor, where freshness and fire do all the work.
The fish isn’t on the menu – it’s brought to your table fresh, you choose what you want, and they’ll tell you the price. Just like in any proper seaside restaurant. In our case, they even gave us a taste straight off the grill, and we changed our minds on the spot – it was that good.
It’s our last day here, but if we ever come back to Samothraki, we’ll absolutely return to Dimitris. Just to see what other flavor combinations he comes up with – and to chase that unbeatable taste of fire-grilled...
