When arriving there from Kamariotissa late morning nobody was around for quite some time. Later Fotis showed up, the friendly owner. He first tried to give me some rather unattractive rooms, but I insisted on staying further up with a view on the frontside. But even this room, with a double and a single bed, was rather small.||||Everything in here, and in the whole hotel, looks rather old and a bit run down. The room furnishings were very basic, so was the bathroom (no shower curtain, toilet paper in bucket, no place to store toiletries, and just a small bar of soap to be found). ||||The best was the small balcony, with two chairs and a little table, looking towards some of the big oriental plane trees, which are so typical for green Therma. I didn't have breakfast, since I wanted to leave very early in the morning to go up Mt.Saos, the biggest mountain of all Greek islands (except for Crete and Evia).||||Location was what interested me most in Therma, since it is a good base for many of the island's best sights, especially the waterfalls and 'vathres' (ponds), for which Samothrake is well known. Close to the Orpheus hotel are also several taverns, although the better one's are in some distance from here. Also small supermarkets are in the neighbourhood.||||Very good was WiFi, also in the room. And for my rented car there was free parking at the...
Read moreWe visited the magical island Samothace and stayed in hotel Orpheus in Therma village. The hotel is....the only hotel in Therma, but I didn't really like it. Our room was small with even smaller bathroom. Taking shower was a challenge in such a claustrophobic place. Didn't like the bed in the room either - the matrass and the pillows weren't comfy at all. |The worst thing - no protective net on the windows, so our room was full with mosquitos all the time.|Good things - the place is quiet, nice situated between woods, beach and mineral water sources and the owner is very cool and polite guy.|It is good place for not very pretentious people apparently...
Read moreSmall room. Bad breakfast / it is the same thing on and on no variety whatsoever, do not go there if you want to experience Samothraki , there are a lot of other interesting things to do with hotels/taverns with delicious food!!!! There are always scooters passing by on the street so if your room is on the street no sleep whatsoever. our so called host even made a remark so that we keep your sheets clean , so he would not have to clean them. A pseudo-philosopher guy that thinks he is smarter and way more intelligent than you. The island is very interesting though better visit the south part of the island - much better weather...
