Argilos Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Sfakia

I loved this restaurant! Agree with past comments that this is the best place to eat in Frangokastello. They invited us to the kitchen to show how they prepare the food. Our dinner was amazing. They gave us tasty appetizers with grilled bread and different dips for free. I tried the lamb cooked in wine and olive oil and it was so soft the meat was slipping off the bones. They also make their own feta cheese. They even gave us a delicious chocolate dessert, raki and fruits to cap the meal.

Fantastic meat the softest and sweetest of ever! I discovered later that the lamb and chikens were breeded by them and the cheese was made by them. Simply the best tavern in the area! It is located just above the big sand hill in Orthi Ammos beach, Fragokastello, Sfakia, western Crete. Sifis, the owner, is the soul of the tavern. It is working nonstop since 2011. Every day he cooks delicious greek dishes with the best ingredients. He also grills fish and meat.
