Paradisos Studios & Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Sfakia

I've stayed in around 20 properties in various parts of the island but Paradisos was my favourite for several reasons:

The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Orthi Ammos beach, which is beautiful and secluded with calm turquoise water and huge sand dunes.

The property is set in lush green gardens with lots of colourful flowers and a sea view. It also has a great playground.

Rooms are immaculately clean and well presented, with everything you could need in terms of cooking facilities. Beds are very comfortable and ceiling fans are so effecient I had no need to use the air con at night. From my room at the front of the property I could hear the waves if I left my windows open at night, which was possible thanks to mosquito nets and the fan.

Staff were friendly and helpful and understanding of my autistic son's issues, which made my stay more relaxing than it might have been.

Value for money is exceptional given the facilities and comfort of the rooms. And there's a fantastic taverna a two minute walk away which also offers great value for money and a wonderful view.

I've never returned to a property twice unless for an overnight stop off on the way to somewhere new, mainly because I like to explore new places, but we had such a great time here I've already booked again...

Really excellent place to have beach vacation with kids - not crowded, white sanded shallow beaches and located just on the shore. What can be little disturbing are cicadas, which are really noisy and trails to beach are sandy (get hot during the day) or have local flora which tend to be pointy. Accomodations has all the needed basics: air conditioner, washing machine (if not in room one can be used without extra cost), wifi. There are kids playground on premises, not lot of traffic and possibility to just take a bike and...

If there is a paradise anywhere, it is here in Paradisos! This paradise atmosphere is created not only by the obvious geographical, tourist and historical values ​​of south-western Crete, but also - and perhaps even above all - by the hosts, Katerina and Andreas Papadakis, together with their children, who with great care make sure that everyone feels like in paradise at their place.
