Thalassa Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Sikinos

This is place seems to be something about this: A family that has a good place to open a restaurant but have no idea about the actual job. They hire a team that promises to make something unique but actually have 0 or minimum experience and qualifications in the Kitchen. The food served is the classic case of trying to impress or think they will impress with things that in real life considered as insults (but their limited knowledge don't know about this) ....for example 1000 island with shrimps or double fried fries (meaning the frozen pre double fried fries ....). My advice to this family...get rid of the people you hired and start from scratch. Spent a descent amount to travel to Athens and go eat to some nice places and take notes on traditional plates you would like to have at your restaurant. Find a honest cook that loves his job. All these if you actually car...if you don't...this is...

We just had the most surreal experience. Given the very positive reviews we had high expectations. However, it was very much the opposite. They pretend to serve greek cuisine with a twist, yet what you get is a total culinary mismatch. Everything seems to be washed down with potatoes and mayonaise, and you get barbecue sauce instead of lemon-olive oil. You expect a nice grilled chicken with lemon sauce, yet you get a Chinese sweet&sour mix of dry chicken on a bed of French fries!! You get a dry grilled calamari served with a curry based potato salad. A fresh fish totally fried to be overly dry, with the same barbecue sauce. And taramata salata which was actually just a potato salata, The owners couldn't care less. This place definitely doesn't deserve its...

The most disappointing service I have ever encountered in my country. We went one day for late lunch, as I had spotted the restaurant with the balcony and the view at the port from the moment we disembarked the ferry. No rush hour, the restaurant was completely empty (even the island was almost empty but anyway) and indeed we were so happy that we were going to have a nice table for 2 with a lovely view. Little did we know.. They refused to let us chose our table and the asked us to sit in a corner one. So….
