Horiatiki Gonia Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Sithonia

Juat came back from dinner in the Restaurant with my family and I am very dissapointed. My wife and I order half kilo grilled Squids with tomato, mix cheese and peper as well as Greek Salad to share. Our girls ordered Shrimps and Pasta with shrimps. It took them a while to bring the food but I was counting on that since Restaurant was almost full. However they first brought Greek Salad and placed it on the middle of the table. 20 minutes later came second dish. Grilled squid roughly 300 grams and almost cold. Not the half kilo grilled squid with cheese and tomato we ordered, and even worse. NO DISHES FOR THE KIDS. I have never ever been in Restaurant before where they first serve the food for adults and let the kids watch how parents eat. It MUST always be if not all at the same time, then at least kids firsf. In this Restaurant waiters obviously don't havs idea about that. Anywhay, when wrong order came kids were already so hungry so we let them eat the squid and wife an I were waiting for rest.. I called fhe waiter and said that this is not what we ordered and he said it is his mistake but didn't do nothing more. i asked what is happening with other dishes, he said it was coming. 20 minutes later I remind them again and asked how can they bring only one dish and nothing else and wiatet said rude that they have problem in the kitchen and that he had to bring the squid first in order not to get cold. Finally came Pasta, 10 minutes later also Shrimps. Except the wrong order food wasn't soo bad but the service is dicaster. They obviosly receive far more guest than...

We had dinner at the family owned Horiatiki Gonia, because we were searching for traditional Greek food. It was sooooooooo tasty 😋. We had just 3 dish this first time. The traditional Greek salad 🥗. Must try it in every restaurant, but here it just had extra twist with the tasty feta and oregano. Loved it. Fried zucchini. Perfectly very thin sliced and dipped in the dough and fried. Served with tzatziki. If they are not thin enough, then it's like chips dipped in water. Here it was so crispy. 😋 Main course, we chose a beef with tomatoes and eggplant served on mashed potatoes. Forgot the name but it had so much flavor and the beef was tender due to long cooking. 😋 Here you get value for money and a smiling stomach😁 Service was kind and smiling and they respect our request to lower the volume of the Greek music due to the quality of the speakers 🔊. They will be upgraded near future. The lightning is cold and not cozy with 4000 Kelvin . An easy upgrade bulbs to 2700 Kelvin or lower will give a great warmth to it. That's why only 3 stars for the environment. You can get a table across the street or in the restaurant both have beautiful view of Neo Marmaras with all its lightning. We will be back during our 2 week stay at Sithonia peninsula....

Great view for dinner but otherwise nothing special.

This restaurant offers a really nice spot to overlook the town with a sea view. It’s a popular location so the restaurant gets quite busy which the staff seemed to struggle with a little. Service was OK, but very much felt like servers getting through their shift rather than making sure you had a great experience. There was quite a lot of sighing and complaining to one another when they thought they were out of earshot.

We ordered the mix grill and Greek salad with some local wine. The Greek salad was good but I think quite pricey for what is a super simple salad and compared to other spots 9.50€. The mixed grill lacked a bit of love. The pork Souvlaki wasn’t that tender, felt like we had fatty cuts and lacked flavour. The chicken was super dry, overcooked, not handled with love.
