Thalassa Blue — Restaurant in Municipality of Sithonia

Let me start by saying the food was very good. They must have a great chef! The fried squid and the roasted octopus were exquisite! The atmosphere is nice, soft, spacey and the see side view is very nice. The price is reasonable for the quality of the food and wine! Glass half empty, is the service. For s premium Greek restaurant, the waiters are not very friendly. No greetings at sitting or paying, a but of a grumpy face, and trust me I am a nice smiling guy. For someone that is a coffee lover, to spill the coffee when serving is very unpleasant. Lastly, they never offered me the greek delight of sweets before leaving. I was eating alone, and have spend a descent amount for 1 person. Yet the table next to me of 4 greeks had been offered the sweets. Either not inviting for foreigners or a new type of „greek hospitality and service”. To be to the point, 90% of the time the greek hospitality is amazing, so it makes it more disappointing when the food is 9/10 but the hospitality is 4/10. Very unusual for Greece. So disappointed. I don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. We waited almost half an hour for food, even though the restaurant wasn’t full. At one point they even brought the wrong dish and tried to convince us to take it, saying we’d have to wait another 20 minutes otherwise. When we refused, they suddenly brought different food within a minute — again something we didn’t order. It was awful, and the salad tasted days old. When paying, the waiter tried to overcharge us and ignored my requests for the bill twice. I honestly feel like they opened a new Google account, because the old one was probably rated 2.0. Terrible food, poor service, and overpriced. Definitely not...

The place is close to the beach. The service is relatively fast but the waiter was rude when I asked to not put additional dressings on my food. However, a second waiter was helpful. The tzatziki was nice with a lot of garlic. The bread that they bring you with each dish is very basic. The fish soup is very hard on the stomach.
