Triantaraki — Restaurant in Municipality of Tinos

Triantaraki is a cute little cafe with nice view in Triantaros village. However, it suffers nowadays from what most Greek business suffer after they become kinda popular.

Service is rude and it’s kinda like they do you a favor for taking an order. After I could not catch the attention of the waitress for 10 min in order to pay, I walked in the cafe and lid the bill to a waiter who was there. When the waitress saw us leaving, she ran towards us saying that we haven’t paid. When I told her we did, another lady from the store told her in front of us ‘ go check with Orestis’, without even giving a look to us or even trying to lower her voice. Drinks are also pretty average nowadays. Homemade lemonade used to be less sweet I find and more tasty :) All in all still a good place to get a coffee if you are around, especially if the service improves.

This is one of the few times I've been moved emotionally by a restaurant experience. The food is great and the selection is very good. Stick to the local dishes, and you are in for treat. Service is also very good. Just keep in mind this is a small local restaurant, not a fine dining experience.

But the combination of the location, food and animal friendly people who work and live in this area makes it for an authentic experience that needs to be appreciated by sitting dow, putting the phone away and taking your time to just be, while enjoying the great dishes on menu that all made fresh.

After trying other great/recommended locations in Tinos, I still find myself wanting to come here for...

Το φαγητό είναι καλό, πολύ ακριβό βέβαια για τόσο μικρές ποσότητες. Η πίτσα για παράδειγμα που προοριζόταν για κανονικό μέγεθος 8 κομματιών τελικά ήταν ατομική, αλλά με τιμή κανονικης. Παρ' όλα αυτά η ποιότητα είναι καλή και θα έβαζα 4 αστέρια αν δε συνέβαινε και το εξής γεγονος: Παίρναμε κάθε μέρα με take away 2 με 4 καφέδες όπου πληρώναμε 2 με 2.5 ευρώ τον καφέ. Την τελευταία μέρα αποφασίσαμε να κάτσουμε για πρωινό και να πάρουμε μετά τους καφέδες στο χέρι γιατί έπρεπε να φύγουμε και να αφήσουμε το σπίτι άμεσα. Να τονίσω πως οι καφέδες ήταν για take away κάτι που τονίσαμε και στο σερβιτόρο. Οι καφέδες ήρθαν μεν, σε χάρτινο ποτηράκι για take away όπως ζητήσαμε αλλά χρεώθηκαν σε τιμή σερβιρίσματος δηλαδή 3.5 με 4 ευρώ. Μιλάμε για σχεδόν τη διπλάσια τιμή. Όταν πήγα να μιλήσω στην υπεύθυνη μου έκανε αρκετά ξεκάθαρο ότι η πολιτική του μαγαζιού είναι αυτη κι ότι δε γίνεται να κάθομαι στο τραπέζι της και να περιμένω τιμή για take away. Αυτό που δεν καταλάβαινε είναι ότι δε με πείραξε η τιμή αλλά πόσο ξεδιάντροπα αλλάζουν τις τιμές έτσι κι απαιτούν μετά να έχουν και κόσμο. 1000 φορές να έπαιρνε τη διαφορά ως πουρμπουάρ ο σερβιτόρος που ήταν αρκετά ευγενικός. Μιλάμε για περίπου 5 ευρώ tip για 3 καφέδες... Edit: Να τονίσω πως οι καφέδες ήρθαν μετά το πρωινό όταν φεύγαμε αφού αυτό ακριβώς είπαμε και στον σερβιτόρο όταν τους παραγγείλαμε. Επίσης σχετικά με την απάντηση που βλέπω παρακάτω να πω στον αγαπητό ιδιοκτήτη ότι δε δουλεύουν όλα τα μαγαζιά έτσι. Αν κάτσεις και πάρεις καφέ σημαίνει ότι θα σερβιριστεί ο καφές σε σερβίτσιο με γυάλινο ποτήρι και συνήθως συνοδεύεται με νερό. Αυτό είναι που πληρώνεις όταν κάθεσαι. Εδώ μιλάμε ότι πληρώσαμε τον καφέ σε χάρτινο (γιατί θα φεύγαμε αμέσως μόλις τρώγαμε όπως κι εγινε) στην τιμη του service. Για να καταλάβετε τη διαφορά ο freddo cappuccino σε take away κόστιζε 2.5 ευρώ. Εμείς όμως τον πληρώσαμε 4 ευρώ! Κάντε τα μαθηματικά εσείς...
