I called six times trying to get a reservation here and the call center or whoever replied said they would connect me. Nobody was picking up. They finally picked up in the afternoon and told me they were fully booked for days. They said there is nobody to pick up the phone earlier. However, I was "connected" every time I called and nobody told me. It's really unprofessional and they wasted my time for nothing. Then, almost a week later, I managed to get a reservation for 10.15pm and asked if I could get on a waiting list for earlier. Nobody called me so I went after ten to a half empty place where they told me I didn't have a reservation but was just on a waiting list. We finally got a table and I have to say that the food was really good. It was served extremely fast and was delicious. The servers were attentive and polite. However, the experience is ruined to an extent by the unnecessary difficulty to get a table, even though there are clearly many available tables. It’s a decent place, but substantially overpriced compared to the quality and taste of the food. It’s clearly the most booked and hard-to-get restaurant, so we came in with high expectations, but for anyone who has had Italian food before, you will realise the taste and quality are average and not worth the hype faily quickly. We were far better off eating at any of the other restaurants inside costa navarino resorts or simply in the towns nearby. Again, it s not the price, it’s the lack of taste. (We had pizzas, dough was way too thick to call that italian, the salami one was more of an american style overloaded one, the margherita definitely did not have original italian mozzarella di bufala). Unexpectedly pushy service, we felt and were rushed, with plates being removed not a second after they were empty and before all at the table had finished eating. Poor somellier too, we chose a pricey bottle and, without enquiring as to our food order, he immediately proceeded to suggest a better wine at double the price!! He could not describe the wine either, except that it was a “typical” Barbaresco whereas our choice was apparently not. Very underwhelming first dinner at Costa Navarino...
