Cafe Snack Bar "Votsalo" — Restaurant in Municipality of Western Lesvos

I’m writing this review to warn others about scammers and to help them avoid a bad experience. The staff isn’t just unfriendly — they’re downright unwelcoming, making you feel like an intruder. When I tried to open a parasol (which, for some unknown reason, was closed in the first place), a woman came over and told me to close it. Very strange behavior, especially since she didn’t even explain why. In the end, she did allow me to open it.

Placing the order was also problematic. When we received our order, we weren’t given a chance to pay — instead, we just got a receipt and the lady quickly disappeared. Later, when we tried to pay, we were told there was an extra charge for using the deckchairs, even though the sign at the entrance clearly says they’re free for customers. The lady then claimed they’re only free if you order at least three drinks. Fine, that rule makes sense — but of course, we weren’t told that at the beginning. I bet that if we had ordered three drinks, she would’ve suddenly said it needs to be four. I do not...

The restaurant is open today (9/5/2018) for the first dishes of the season. the food on the menu is very limited. nice terrace, covered with reeds, beach with sun beds and umbrellas. The ministry (older woman) is friendly and conservative. The cappuccino is sweetened instant cappuccino, which was disappointing. But, the old lady told us they have an Illy machine, but it was not ready... We left because we wanted a lunch, so we went somewhere else. I hope they will get on track really soon, while it is a...

Its a great location , BUT it took an hour for a "club sandwitch" to be made in the middle of the day (the fries were cold when we recieved our order)! The waiter was rude when I asked is it normally taking this long and he turned around arrogantly and said "yes" ( he aslo had no knowledge for any of the food or any skills...
