My wife and I first visited Lesbos in May, 2024, and we stayed at a hotel in Skala Kallonis, on a bed and breakfast basis. We asked existing guests for a recommendation as to where to go for our evening meal, and it was suggested we try Mezen, which was just off the Village Square, opposite a quaint old church. We tried this restaurant on our first night in resort. What a find! The menu was extensive, the food was excellent and the waiters led by Aris were extremely pleasant, hard-working and engaging, with a fantastic sense of humour. We both enjoyed our first dining experience so much that we never ate anywhere else. Our second visit to Lesbos was in May, 2025. Read moreWent there late in the evening with the kids after a beach day. Setting is amazing and the selection of food options is great. Food was very tasty as we sampled a bit of everything. Eating out with kids, the starters came quite quickly and were well received, even ordered another portion of the popcorn shrimps the kids loved. Unfortunately, it then took another 45min or so until additional starter and the mains came, by then it was so late that the kids almost fell asleep at the table and didn't eat anymore. Stuffed squid was delicious, mixed seafood was plenty, only Octopus was a bit burnt and disappointing. Overall very good selection of interesting options (loved the stuffed courgette hearts), good value for what you get and nice setting outdoor. It was a shame it was so slow for the mains despite the place clearing out as so much good food...

Now, i have been to almost every restaurant in Skála Kalloni, and you were treated not so good, by the standards of Ambrosia. You were met by a smile and a welcome, sit where you like, even across from the restaurant, on a little square under some tree. We both orded giovetsi, and it didn't disappoint. Again, apart from one other restaurant in Skála Kalloni you never felt forgotten. It's was two guys that were in charge of taking the orders. And they did with finesse and still managed to smaltalk with the guests, even learned a little greek. So to end this, i will just say, go visit this place. I will next...
