Thalassino — Restaurant in Nestos Municipality

My recent visit to Thalassino Restaurant was an absolute disaster. Our night out was completely spoiled by an exceptionally delayed order and an outrageously rude behavior from the waiting staff, and I feel it's important that potential patrons know what they might be in for.

My father and I had ordered two pork steaks. The first arrived in a reasonable time, but the second one seemed to be lost in translation. We patiently waited for an additional 40 minutes before I decided to check in with our server. I was assured that the dish would be coming out soon, which, frankly, didn't solve our problem but we decided to wait anyway.

After another agonizing 30 minutes, I confronted the server again about our still missing steak. This time, shockingly, I was told that we didn't order both steaks together. Not only did it seem like a lame excuse for their inefficient service, but also their attempt to shift the blame onto us was incredibly insulting.

I argued that having many orders is not an excuse for poor service or mismanagement, and the waiter shouldn’t be making me feel guilty. In response, the waiter explained it wasn't an excuse, but "just the situation". This kind of behavior was nothing short of audacious.

All in all, this was an endlessly disappointing experience. With an attitude like that, I'm afraid Thalassino Restaurant will lose more customers than they can afford. I would advise anyone considering dining there to rethink...

UPDATE We returned back and had a different waiter, Alex, and he turned our experience completely around. Alex sat us quickly, responded to any requests, and had the best attitude the entire time! He even treated us to a complimentary dessert after we were done. The food was wonderful! Without Alex, the previous experience would have left us with a bad taste in our mouth. THANK YOU ALEX!

The reviews for this place were great and as an American traveling I was excited to see English on their menus. But the service we received was horrible. My group consisted a majority of African Americans, which already received a lot of looks traveling down the street, but the waitress acted like it was a problem to seat us. She then took our appetizer orders and never came back to the table. We were hungry and tried to wave her down repeatedly and she was actively ignoring us and our table; waited on every table around us and wouldn’t make eye contact with us. Then we had to chase her and another waitress down to get the check, just so we could leave and find somewhere else to eat. honestly don’t understand the negative reviews here. Yesterday, it was raining heavily, and many people showed up without a reservation and had to wait for a table. Once it started to rain, some of those same people complained about not getting a spot – even though the restaurant was already full. The staff can’t be blamed for that.

I find it really disrespectful what some people write in their reviews. The team clearly works very hard to offer great service to everyone. I had to wait for a table myself that day, but I didn’t complain. The owner isn’t responsible for the weather.

The food was absolutely delicious, the prices were great, and the staff was very friendly. Everything was satisfying. It really frustrates me to see people leave childish, rude reviews, even insulting the owner personally, just because they didn’t get what they wanted. That kind of behavior doesn’t belong here, and such reviews don’t reflect the reality...
