Charoula’s Tavern offers an authentic and peaceful dining experience, far from the crowds typically found in more touristic areas of the island. The atmosphere is serene and welcoming, with a beautifully typical setting that enhances the charm of the place. The quality of the ingredients and raw materials used is excellent, clearly reflected in the taste and presentation of the dishes. Portions were generous, and every dish we tried was delicious. The staff were professional, courteous, and attentive throughout our visit. Prices are slightly below the island’s average, which makes the experience even more enjoyable and good value for money. The only downside to our visit was the waiting time. Despite there being no more than four tables occupied upon our arrival, we waited approximately 50 minutes before receiving our meals. Additionally, the table next to us, which arrived after we did, was served first. While not a matter of overcrowding, this delay did affect our overall impression. That said, aside from this one issue, Charoula’s Tavern would otherwise deserve a five-star rating. It remains a highly recommended stop for those looking to enjoy authentic cuisine in a tranquil and welcoming setting.

The paros’s worst local. I was there with my girlfriend for dinner, we’ve done a very long trip to arrive there, we had very good expectations but we were totally disappointed. The place it’s very small and there are too many tables, no space and no privacy between tables, it’s overbooked. When we were there, the place was no quieter, a few meters from our table there was a group of screaming children (not from the tavern). It is an open space so there aren’t air conditioner, it’s so hot! Don’t be fooled by internet’s photos. The service was the worst thing of course: they immediately received us so badly, we were made to sit on a table it has been set up 10 minutes later. We were tight with other guest, but the worst part was the waiter who was taking the order of our neighbours: he stayed there for 15 minutes chatting with his fellow greeks (not about food), his sweaty back and bottom was a few centimetres from our dishes! When we told him that, politely and so embarrassed, instead of apologise, he continued speaking Greek with them, careless about our unease. The food was modest quality: French fries were undercooked and they are the only side dishes. The meatballs were without salt and tasteless, the zucchini balls were undercooked and without salt, the taste of vegetables soups. The tatziki was suggested by a waitress but it was ORRIBLE! certainly wasn’t fresh, it’s came out the fridge and very badly done. Tomato’s stuffed were warmed up, the rice was overcooked. Of course, after the situation with the waiter, we didn’t ordered nothing else and we’ve go away. They didn’t attempt to remedy… 50 euro throw away! Calling it “restaurant” it’s a shame!

What to say. Like in other reviews places to eat in Greece that one has very good food as well. Hard to find even average food in Greece. Food is good enough without fireworks but some position are more tasty let say. Place is adorable located in heart of Marsipassa town. It is also popular because at the evening it was full. What also is big advantage of Greece is what you get for that amount of money. Here we were 4 people that like to eat and ordered so many dishes so we were forced to take one salad and pieces of souvlaki home by firstly had eaten a few salads souvlaki, mussaka, had drank few beers and some wine and ended up full. Recipe was 88€…

If you ever find yourself wandering through the charming, winding streets of Marpissa, do yourself a favor and stop at this little taverna tucked away in the heart of the village. Nestled in a small courtyard, surrounded by traditional whitewashed walls and bathed in the soft glow of string lights, this place is the very definition of authentic Greek romance.

But what truly elevates this experience from wonderful to unforgettable is the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Especially Georgios, our waiter that evening. From the moment we sat down, Georgios made us feel like we were not just customers, but honored guests in a home. He struck the perfect balance between attentiveness, humor and ease, checking in just at the right moments without ever making us feel rushed or interrupted. What sets this taverna apart, in a world where service can so often feel cold or transactional, is the genuine human connection you feel here.

And let’s not forget the food: Every dish was an explosion of authentic Greek flavor. From the first bite to the last, it was simply outstanding. The portions were generous, the presentation beautiful, and the flavors rich, vibrant, and true to the spirit of the island.

If you are looking for a place that combines soul-warming food, heartfelt service, and enchanting atmosphere, this is...
