I dined at this restaurant after making a reservation at 7 pm. However, when I called to reserve, the person on the phone assured me that a reservation wouldn't even be necessary. With that in mind, I arrived at 8:30 pm. I was greeted by a staff member responsible for welcoming guests, but unfortunately, he was less than hospitable. He made us feel bad for not having a reservation, despite the fact that the restaurant was largely empty throughout our meal.
The waiters, however, were friendly and attentive, which was a nice touch. When the food arrived, we were eager to dig in, but overall, it was only mediocre at best, with one standout dish: the beef chops simmered in the oven, which were absolutely phenomenal. The wine, too, was good and complemented the meal well.

Everything here is made in-house. The hand rolled penne are out of this world! The service is great and the servers are very nice, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu. After your meal, the restaurant offers a free dessert. Always wait for the dessert! It is fantastic. Made in the spirti of Mille-feuille, it is layers of crisp puff pastry with ice cream in the center covered with a fruit coule. I can never get enough of it. Ellinon Gefsis is one of the best restaurants I have been to in all of Greece. Who knew such a gem could be found way up...
Read moreBased on the good reviews, we decided to make a detour in Serres from our already long enough road (Romania- Kefalonia) just to have dinner here… and it was absolutely worth it!!! The food was excellent: fresh, quickly prepared and served and, of course, tasty. The staff were warm and friendly, and they all spoke English. The place itself is beautifully decorated, and even though it looks very expensive, the prices are afforadble. I highly reccommend you to order the fresh bread starter. It comes with a nice dip and some olives and is different from the usual greek pitta served at...
