Platanos Tavern — Restaurant in Skopelos Municipality

I will write this review in English,although I am Greek, in order to let everyone know my experience of this restaurant.Except the atmosphere and the service, this restaurant barely deserves 1 star, in terms of the quality of food.I ate a green salad, named “Skopelos Special”, and few hours later,there I was with food poisoning.I spent the rest of my day feeling sick, not eating anything else because I would throw up.Late at night I ended up staying awake and not sleeping at all,because I had terrible bellyache and so I had to go to the bathroom many times (for obvious reasons) and I even faded… I don’t know what was wrong with this salad,or even if the basic hygiene rules were enforced in the kitchen personnel,but I definitely know that not only I will never go to this restaurant again but also I will not recommend this ...

Platanios is an absolute gem on the culinary map of Greece! The food is simply outstanding – every dish we tried was delicious, fresh, and made with great care and attention to flavor. The portions are incredibly generous – you definitely won’t leave hungry!

The wine? Absolutely exquisite – it perfectly complemented the dishes and added to the unforgettable Greek dining experience.

What truly sets Platanos apart is not just the amazing food, but also the wonderful service – warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. We felt like part of the family – the atmosphere was incredibly homey, relaxed, and full of positive energy.

This is a place you’ll want to come back to – not just for the flavors, but for the people. If you’re on Skorpios or nearby, Platanis is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

This was our favorite lunch spot on the island. A local gem we were sent to by a woman who grew up on the island and has been going since she was a little girl and the the only place on our entire trip we found with the most amazing hand-made puff pita - they're made to order, cooked one at a time and ridiculously good - we actually planned our days around them. We ordered them with the also amazingly good gyro meat and a greek salad. Seating is in a shared space in a square under a huge beautiful tree.
