I recently dined at this fish restaurant with a group of friends, and while the food left us very satisfied, the service was frustratingly slow and somewhat impolite.
Let's start with the positives: the dishes were undeniably delicious. The fish was fresh, expertly cooked, and packed with flavor. The menu offered a variety of options, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to quality seafood. Our taste buds were in for a treat, and it's clear that the chefs know their craft well.
However, the shining culinary experience was overshadowed by the service—or lack thereof. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the staff was overwhelmed or perhaps simply disinterested in attending to their customers promptly. We waited an exorbitant amount of time before even having our order taken, and it wasn't due to the restaurant being packed; the place was only moderately busy at that time.
When our orders were finally taken, we settled in, expecting the same level of care to be reflected in the service. Sadly, we were met with delays at every turn with only a few dishes coming every 15-20 minutes. Also, we were told that several of the dishes we initially ordered were not available any more.
The staff members were looking as if they were totally exhausted (maybe that was indeed the case), resulting in rather impolite attitude at certain times. A couple of interactions were met with short and dismissive responses, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers.
Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the prices were notably high, a trend seemingly consistent with the overall cost of dining on Skopelos. While we were willing to pay a premium for quality seafood, the combination of steep prices and the subpar service left us feeling less than satisfied with the value we received.
All in all, I wouldn't completely write off this place due to the scrumptious dishes, but I do hope the management takes a hard look at their service operations and invests in improvements. A great meal is only truly satisfying when complemented by attentive and...
Read moreI’ve been looking forward to a nice meal at this restaurant and it’s left me disappointed. I popped in on the way from the beach to ask if I can book and was told they don’t take bookings and to chance it because it will be busy. When we arrived an hour later we were asked if we had booked which left me confused. We were then showed to a few tables at the back of the terrace nd were told the ones with better views are all booked. Service was slow even by Greek standards. The staffed seemed rushed off their feet but when they finally came to take our order about 20 mins later we felt rushed. We had a few questions about the menu and the answers were short.
We ordered our starter and as we were told the fish doesn’t come with anything we ordered some fries to accompany them. But the fries arrived with our starter so when our fish arrived we ended up eating just fish on its own. The fish was delicious and beautifully grilled and filleted for us at the table. We seemed to be getting slower service than others around us. It took another 20 mins for someone to clear our plates at which point we asked for the bill. It took another 40 mins for the bill to arrive. At this point had been ready to leave for over an hour and as we speak we are still...
Read moreAfter one week in Skopelos I have to say honestly this is the best place to get a dinner or lunch on the island. We have been there twice on the first and the last night and each time it was a great experience. Especially during sundown it is a magnificent ambience to sit on the terrace and watch the ocean as you sip on a fine glas of wine or Eza which is actually rare on the island. Most importantly in my experience this restaurant offers the best price quality ratio on the island upon all the places I visited (we went out for dinner six times). Especially compared to a Tavern in Agnontas where the same kind of fish of at least the same quality costs more than double!!! And the service is not comparable to this place as well it is just not anywhere close to what I expect if I pay 90+€ Euros for a Dinner with only water and one beer to drink. But actually the service in Agnontas wasn't even what I expect in any not self-service place. Totally different for the Stafilos restaurant where all the waiters are very attentive and friendly. Special props got out to Christos he is a great guy, if you are the owner and read this, give this man a race...
