The friends are a very nice and clean Greek "taverna" for ouzo and tsipouro! The prices are good and the quality and quantity of the plates that serve each time you order ouzo or tsipouro are great ! Just a tip for all tourists going to Volos: ordering ouzo or tsipouro will get you a variety of plates mostly of seafood without ordering them. It's a tradition to some places to not charge the ordervs. Also if you're going to Volos avoid the restaurants and taverns that are at the Port as they are expensive and not so good as the ones that the locals prefer like "Ta Filarakia" (friends). I was there on the 3 of November. Horrible, all the food we’ve ordered wasn’t fresh ! The shrimps had no taste, the fried octopus was like gum. They precooked 3-4 octopus parts and left them near the grill waiting for someone to order them with flies around, I saw this when I went inside to pay with my credit card.
