Given the unusual, “alleyway” setting, in amongst the streets of Volos city, one could be forgiven for thinking that this restaurant might not quite be up to par. Let me tell you now, looks can be extremely deceiving!
From the moment we sat down in this quaint little eatery, we were treated with exceptional service by the softly-spoken waiter - who was more akin to a top maitre-de, with incredible warmth.
The menu is varied to suit all tastes and the food - in my opinion - is the best in Volos.
As an example of their service, we asked if they had peppercorn sauce for the steak we ordered … And the reply? “No Sir, but we can make some for you.” They did and it was amazing. How many restaurants would offer that level of service?
During our visit, we were also treated to a free liquor and a light pudding which was the perfect touch to a faultless experience.
For service and food of this quality (and given the abundance of the portions) I naturally expected the bill to represent that … it didn’t. In fact, it was so incredibly cheap that we actually thought they’d mis-calculated what we’d had.
The following evening we returned and received exactly the same high standard of service and food excellence. Our only regret is that we didn’t find this hidden gem earlier during our stay in Volos.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend anyone visiting or living in Volos to try “It’s Greek to me” because I can assure you, you will not be disappointed.
*UPDATE 22 June 2025 *
After 2 years, we finally managed to revisit this restaurant and can report that it is still as excellent as it was in 2023. The food is delicious and plentiful, the service is simply impressive (Saki is still the knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant waiter) and the price is still a lot less than you would expect. Once again, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and urge you to visit if you ever visit Volos.
Simply splendid all round.

Read morePeanut butter chicken…. Unfortunetly too sweet and less taste of peanuts. Peanut butter is keto friendly so shouldn’t be a sweet product. They also should let know the consumer when are added sugers in the meal. Didn’t ate it as u say my bf did.. and less of half did. Still have the rest of it. Probably the coconut milk it’s very sweet though i tried products it coconut that weren’t that sweet. If u really want to know 100 grams of peanut butter it’s 20 carbs. It happens to have a meal not on your taste and when u’re in hurry u let it be. But totally the sauce and taste was dissapointing. The restaurant surely has potential and good ideas, just didn’t happen with that...
