A Must-Visit Tsipouro & Meze Experience in Volos!
During our two-day trip to Volos, one of the must-visit spots on our list was Mezen, inspired by the recommendation of the YouTubers TechItSerious, and it did not disappoint!
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect stage for an unforgettable tsipouro and meze experience. The attention to detail in every dish was evident, with each bite showcasing rich flavors and top-quality ingredients.
One of the unexpected highlights? The simple yet incredible bread with oil, so flavorful that we could have made a meal out of it alone! But the real showstopper was the “κοκορέτσι θράψαλο”, a dish that truly stood out as my personal favorite.
Pairing everything with excellent tsipouro made for a fantastic culinary experience. If you’re in Volos and love great food, good company, and an authentic tsipouro culture, Mezen is a spot you...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant with a group of six after seeing several positive recommendations online. The place is fairly small, though there are some additional tables outside. Since we had ordered eight dishes in total, the lack of space became an issue. At one point, my uncle even had to fetch clean plates himself. In summary, the food is great, but the service was disappointing—I’d give it a 6 out of 10. Regardless of this, i still decided to give you a 4-star hoping the service will be better for...

The restaurant uses mainly fresh ingredients, which is excellent, but also means that some dishes might not be available anymore to order. This was the case in our situation: many things we wanted to try were unavailable.
I eventually ordered the blue crabs, which were excellent, but my wife’s order had been dropped in the kitchen (feta meatballs). The new meatballs arrived nearly 45 minutes later and they were very dry. There wasn’t any feta inside, only some on the side (which tasted great).
This place is definitely worth a try. We were just a bit unlucky on the...
