I have never left a negative comment so far on any of the places I have visited. It is simple - you can always recognize the efforts of the hosts, even if the food is not that good, or the place is lacking something else. This is how I was thinking a little over 2 hours ago, but not anymore. It is a busy season and we can all see that, but I haven't ever been thrown 1 menu over the table for 2 persons. Okay, they are busy, we saw it. We finally got the chance to order - draft beer, Coca Cola, tzatziki, tarama, octopus and fried kalamari. Thankfully, two of the waiters, irrespective of how challenged they were of the many people and the weather conditions, were smiling and acting professionally. Then the waiting started... More than 45 minutes waiting... After 45 minutes, the only thing that I have done was just to ask one of the waitress whether our food is ready, because we are waiting for more than 40 minutes without even changing my facial expression or tone. Ladies and gentlemen, I have never been served with absolutely no facial expression, or word or even head turn when I am speaking to a waiter in a restaurant. Then my "beloved" host (the one that threw the menu on the table) just jumped from somewhere, I asked him the same thing and I was served with the comment and gesture - "Problem - you can leave" 🤣 and he added - "Moment"... I still waited... for another 5 minutes. Honestly, I have never seen such a bad attitude. Unfortunately, we haven't even had the chance to try the food, but we tought that after more than 45 minutes waiting and such an attitude, it was about time to leave coins for the drinks and and get the Hell out of there... If you find yourself in Asprovalta, Tavern Antonis is absolutely essential! From the moment you step through the door, you’re welcomed by an atmosphere of warmth and genuine hospitality. Lefteris, the host, is a true gem – not only is he incredibly kind, but his sense of humor and attention to detail really set this place apart.

The entire staff is outstanding, too. They're attentive, welcoming, and make sure every guest feels right at home. They’ve created a perfect blend of professionalism and friendliness that makes every visit feel personal and memorable.

The food is, of course, phenomenal – from fresh seafood to traditional Greek dishes, everything is packed with flavor. And what really stands out is how they go above and beyond to accommodate every guest’s needs. My cousin has a food allergy, and the team was so thoughtful, making sure to offer variations of the dishes to keep her safe while still allowing her to enjoy the full experience. It’s this level of care that really makes Tavern Antonis stand out! And to mention again, every single dish from salads, to mains and desserts are amazing!

Given how perfect everything is, it’s no surprise that the taverna is popular, so reservations are highly recommended during peak times – but trust me, it’s 100% worth it.

We had lunch and dinner few times here in different days at different hours.

Lunch time is ok, tables are available. Dinner time it is better to arrive earlier at about 19-20:30 hrs to get a table without reservation, as thereafter it gets fully occupied and you need to wait or choose other restaurant.

Food is very good, everything we’ve ordered. Chicken soup is in the menu, but not always available to be served. We ordered chicken soup for next day and they prepared it.

Music is nice and not too loud.

When it’s too crowded, you may wait a bit for the receipt and for paying. Once I needed to go inside to ask to pay, as I couldn’t wait more. Overall it’s a good service and such situations are understandable.
