Botsalákia — Restaurant in Volvi Municipality

We were seated fast. They have menus in English and Bulgarian but they are not written the same way details in the Bulgarian were missing.

The octopus was okay, not the best but at least it was tender but a bit bland. 7/10

The homemade tarama was tasty but way too salty. 3.5/10

The tzatziki was just bad, bland no taste at all and dry, which is strange for a tzatziki. 2/10

The crab salad we received by mistake we wanted the Crete salad but the waiter did not hear us. I don’t recommend way to mayonnaise that is the only thing you taste. 1/10

The Sea bass was okay, cooked very good but bland. 7/10

The Squid looked amazing on the photos here and in person but then you taste it and regret it the moment you start chewing. It was tender but it had very bad taste. If was not prepped and cleaned for me and the taste was disgusting I tried swallowing a few time but I ended up spitting it out. Also after you are left with the worst after taste ever. You drink water, you eat something else and still it lingers. Also your tongue dries up. Thankfully the staff removed it from the bill even if they said everything was fine with it. 0/10

We recently had a family meal at this restaurant (on recommendation). When we arrived, the restaurant had few diners, a lot of staff, but the service was sporadic. The food itself was very tasty, and the portions were large; however, only three main courses were served initially, and I had to wait until my family had finished eating their meals before my moussaka arrived; hence 4* and not 5*—it was delicious, though. Free mini ice-creams are offered at the end of the meal. There are many cats (under the tables scavenging) and competing (loud) music from establishments either side of the restaurant, which lessens the overall ambience. Overall, a good experience, but...

Literally the best Greek restaurant I have ever been to!

You can easily find the restaurant by the always full tables. There is a hostess outside which usually tells you to wait 3-40 mins and puts you in a list, so if you plan eating there better make a reservation.

The service is extremely fast, most of the time there are no more than 5 mins between ordering and starters served. There are menus in all of the balkan languages.

The food is perfect, I have been there at least 10-15 times in the past few years and literally every product in the menu is tasty and with high quality.

The place is must-go if you are staying at Asprovalta or the region
