Don't make a reservation there, if it could be possible that you'll arrive there a little delayed. We came 7 minutes after time and the "superfriendly" waiter had given away our table.
What happened?
Some days ago we went along the beach street and discovered that restaurant. It was r.a. 7 o'clock and we asked for a table.
The waiter said that all the tables were already reserved but we could make a reservation for tomorrow.
So we did, for 7 p.m..
As we got there, the waiter said: It's 7 minutes past 7, you booked at 7, your table is cancelled!
Boom! Shot down.
In the first moment I was speechless.
Than I tried to tell him that this here is Greece and it can always happen something (Especially only 7 minutes just here in Greece, where everyone arrives very much later than the apointed time. I'm German and I know very well about German punktuality!), but whatever I tried, is was senseless.
Finally, we got no table altough we had a reservation!
This treatment shows that this restaurant has so many single-visitation-guests that it doesn't make a difference if the waiters treat the guests in such an arrogant way.
It will be completely layed out anyday anyway.
But such a restaurant is not worth anyone's hardly earned money and such a waiter is just acting like a King and not like servant to his guests, insteand of treating them like Kings and Queens, as he should do...
And in fact, im my opinion he's an mean man; not to use harder words. (Google doesn't allow to write these words...)
I am still enormously angry about that kind of treatment and I never experienced such before.
So, don't go there if you don't want to be treated badly!
Some places are good, some are bad, some worse. To me, this is worst! Nobody has earned to be treated like I was.
I am still very dissapointed though I never had the chance to try their food.
Thank God that there are many other restaurants very close, who know to treat their guests...
Read moreThe only thing the restaurant can boast about is its good location – on the pedestrian walkway in Asprovalta. That’s where the disappointments begin. The tables are crammed together to fit as many people as possible. The menu is offered only as a QR code – as if everyone is expected to have a smartphone with a QR scanner. Moreover, the website only lists the prices of the food – nothing else (ingredients, content). The service is slow and chaotic. We asked for Greek-style zucchini, and the response was "We don’t have any." The portions are small for their price, and the quality of the food is nothing more than fried (baked) semi-prepared and pre-cooked dishes. On top of that, the traditional welcome with bread and water is missing, as is the farewell with something sweet. This is the result of "Bulgarization" in Northern Greece – lowering the quality because the clientele is unpretentious, will pay up, and even if they don’t return, others will...
Read moreSuper delicious!!! We always go there when visiting Asprovalta and rarely go to other dining venues during our stay simply because there isn't a better place. Best fried musels, amazing grilled shrimps, awesome octopus, the signature salad is just to die for, the crunchy fried zucchini shall not be missed, shrimps saganaki we ordered twice cause we just couldn't get enough of it lol... The whole menu is a delight to all your senses! Do make a dinner reservation a day ahead cause it's so popular that it's impossible to just go and get seated or book for the same day. Lunchtime is not that full so it's a good alternative if you missed making a reservation. The staff is very friendly and helpful giving good food recommendations. We always feel wanted and like going to a friend. Panko and team we all miss you already and look forward to coming back next year again to enjoy your company and...
