Filio — Restaurant in Xanthi Municipality

Filio is something of a legend around Xánthi achieving the title due to its formerly massive portions of very good food at dirt-cheap prices. The lines were and continue to be massive. Of course as time went by the quality dropped, the prices increased, but the legend status of the establishment hadn’t waned making Filio an institution every Xanthiotis and heaps of people from the surrounding area revere. I’d definitely recommend a try but keep in mind that should you be looking for quality over quantity there’s better places nearer to the centre...

A must place to visit in Xanthi. The XL gyros, is a huge portion and great quality. It's a little bit pricy 5.8 euro but its a portion for 2 people. Ingredients are very good, 5 star quality and not oily. Beef option as well. Staff was great and friendly. People waiting in line... The negatives are the parking,.its usually full and when you're dinning in, they need an additional effort in cleaning. It was clean but needed a touch more....

By far the best gyro I've had in Greece.

I was travelling from Bulgaria to Thessaloniki, and as we got hungry, we just look up the closest place from the highway to eat.

When I arrived, it was crowded, more than 20 people were waiting in a line - for me that is indication of good food.
