Amoudi Seaside Restaurant — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Have been on zakynthos for 3 weeks, different restaurant almost everyday just to try new things. This is the only restaurant we have returned to, the food is incredibly fresh compared to other places (no fishyness on the shrimps). I have spent loads of time beforehand researching proper restaurants as well as in the streets checking out loads of places while Amoudi restaurant was one street away from where we stayed. Funny how the best restaurant on the island was under our nose from the start. Tried out new things all the time during this three weeks but nothing matched amoudi. I dislike fish but my girlfriend had a seabass and I tasted it and it was actually very nice absolutely zero fishy aftertaste, this can only be due to freshness I believe. The restaurant has an ''average'' price for tourists, by greek standards it's slightly more expensive than average but I would say it's more than worth it, always.

I'm writing this review 1.5 years after I visited zakynthos because my girlfriend and I still joke about it when we discuss it when we go to a restaurant, we talk about options and then say what about amoudi, let's catch a plane to greece for that hahaha.

The only small downside is that their baklava is so good that we on two out of our three visits they had ran out entirely by the time we got to the dessert stage.

Service was prompt and waitress provided good suggestions what to choose. We took grilled sea bream, grilled calamari, prawns saganaki (starter, but it was quite big!) and Greek salad - everything was so tasty that I can't even describe it here!!!

Strongly recommended for sea food lovers, place is kids friendly as they have nice playground outside restaurant.

To summarize - the place and food is just amazing, we don't go to the same place again normally, but I think we'll return for tasting other dishes.

Update after few days: we've returned for the lunch next day. Almost everything was great again (sea bream was excellent) except Zucchini fritters, something went wrong while preparing batter for this meal. I'm keeping 5 out of 5 score since other dishes were...

The beautiful location and the design of the place are undoubtedly worth mentioning. Right by the sea, with white linen curtains in the breeze like the sales of a boat. But the food could be way better, at least in tune with its cost. We had courgette balls with herbs , grilled squid, fried squid. Now, the grilled calamari proved to be chewy and unfortunately brought ...lukewarm at the table - the same as the fried one, which was rather oily and drenched in the ...tempura batter. The fried courgette/zucchini tasted kind of bitter , as they had put too much of a certain herb in the composition. We have visited Greece for many years now and I got to know what certain dishes should taste like when well-cooked.
