We booked 5 nights at the end of August looking for peace & quiet.||As we were early our room wasn’t ready so we changed into our shorts etc & had lunch. The restaurant overlooks the sea & we settled in with a lovely Greek salad & meatballs in a tomato sauce. Both dishes were tasty & by the time we’d finished our room wasn’t ready.||We were very lucky as we were allocated room 15, on the top floor where the building jut out a few feet. This meant our view was fabulous over the pool & to the right.|The room was spacious & had a little kitchenette.||If looking for any negatives it would have been handy to be able to attach the shower head to the holder, also the mattress is very firm as are also the pillows. These really are not major issues & didn’t detract from an excellent room.||The pool is a good size with plenty of sun loungers, by this time of year it’s a good temperature. Generally we had it to ourselves when fancying a dip.||The beach is no more than a few metres away with calm water & mainly sandy bottom. We enjoyed snorkelling by some very close by rocks & saw some small fish.||Spiros mini market is no more than 50 metres away. It’s well stocked & sensibly priced.||While Amoudi is quiet it benefits from half a dozen restaurants. All of them were good in their own ways with many on...
Read moreJust returned from a week at the Achillion Apartments in Amoudi, Zante. We were in fact the first guests of the season!||Location: absolutely beautiful, all 18 rooms have a stunning sea view, which can also be enjoyed across the site. There is a small supermarket less than a 2 minute walk from the property, and a handful of restaurants (as well as an excellent restaurant on site) with more preparing to open up shortly. You can hire a car or arrange a boat trip from just outside the hotel. Amoudi is a small resort with none of the loud bars and pubs from nearby Alikanas! ||Rooms: well equipped and kept clean with regular towel/ bedding changes.||Facilities: a well kept, large pool with plenty of sun loungers. Lovely large grass lawn for ball games or relaxing on. Two small sandy beaches - one on either side of the property. Excellent restaurant on site which operates all day and evening. Onsite parking for ca. 5 cars.||Owners: well run by two sisters who sadly lost their father (the previous owner) earlier in the year. They simply cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Both speak excellent English and are friendly and very helpful. You arrive a guest and leave as a friend.||Don't...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Achillion Restaurant by chance about halfway through our vacation, and it turned out to be a wonderful discovery. We first visited in the morning for a coffee and a smoothie and were immediately enchanted by the peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.
What truly made the experience special were the two sisters, who run the restaurant. They were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive, making us feel right at home. The restaurant also offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the distant island of Kefalonia—something you could never grow tired of.
In addition to the dining area, there's a swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols, which guests are welcome to use, as well as access to a sandy beach.
We enjoyed our visit so much that we returned several times during our stay—stopping by in the mornings for drinks and again in the evening for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious; we had tzatziki, moussaka, and sea bass with salad, baklava with ice cream, all of which were beautifully prepared.
If we ever return to Zakynthos, we will definitely visit Achillion Restaurant again. I highly recommend stopping by to soak up the charm and warmth of this...
