Fish Taverna Andreas — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

This restaurant used a nasty trick to sell high priced items. We wanted to get fish from the regular menu and the waiter instead offered a fish for two people, but this induced a price that is double from fillets on the menu otherwise (pages for fish per kg are later in the menu that nobody in our party of six was even aware of). The waiter never mentioned or warned us about the price differential. The same thing that happened when we asked to choose between two wines: the waiter pointed to other two wines twice as expensive. Similar practice is mentioned in other reviews, but the restaurant doesn't seem to care or take kindly to such comments or accept responsibility.

The service was also slow and we continually had to look to grab waiter's attention.

Food was decent, but nothing special compared to other places. Some silly omission like not even giving a slice of lemon with super expensive fish. The location is really nice by the water. However, we left with a really poor experience because we...

We, a group of 8, spent two weeks on the island and we commonly agreed this was the worst place we have seen. We tried to serve lunch, the waiters were extremely bored and relaxed, they were at some point edging between being arrogant and plain rude, especially the older tall guy with blue eyes which took our order. When food was delivered, we had different problems starting with wrong orders (i had deep fried mussels but i received 5 boiled mussels in a sos) and finishing up with fish that tasted like salted rubber. Of course there was nobody to complain to because the server bringing in the food barely spoke any English. The bill came and we all paid up the hiked/inflated prices and left with a bitter feeling. These guys don’t realize how much potential there is to create beautiful experiences and instead choose to waste...

I rarely write reviews, as we all can have good or bad days. But this is an exception and one i want to warn others. Visited Sunday evening 25 June 2023 The waiter (he expressed he been to Manchester many times) recommended I do the Red Snapper, I agreed, My meal arrived with a small fish and small salad, really poor. but the complaint was my meal was £39. All other food we chose was normal rates. This was outrageous for such a poor meal and unfair As there was not a price in the menu (most meals 10 to 20 euros) and i was not expecting it to be double the other meals. I can get this meal for 20 euro or less in all the other restaurants, I was still Hungry after this. BE WARY OF THIS tactics. Not a pleasant...
