They have exellent food and exellent cocktails, BUT unfortunately have to take 2 star away. It's because when we asked for check they asked do we want to pay cash or card. We said cash and then they just came to table and told: "It's 135€". No bill to check out or anything. That is not ok! We had to ask again can we see the bill. They brouhgt it looking like little annoyed and it kind of ruined everything... It's not like u can just come and say "5€ thanks"...
Edit. All over the world and Greece we have allways gotten the check before paying. Saying nobody else haven't complained it and appealing to the goverment laws makes the restaurants answer just arrogant. Dropping 1 star more.
Edit edit. If someone thinks going to this restaurant read the ridiculous answer for review. Please remember to ask for the check because this is only restaurant in Zakynthos that don't want to give it to customer (after may 15th).
Edit for ps2. No we didn't we had to ask again after waiting long time. Yes the waiter looked annoyed when we asked the see the check BEFORE paying. We wanted to see how much is the bill before we pay it. I don't care if it's mandatory or not. Thats just good customerservice. I didn't have anything to complain(example food or service) just about bringing the pre-receipt. You made this big number. I wasn't talking ever about getting the actual...

It's a must-visit spot if you are looking to drink well and/or eat exquisite hyper-seasonal, ingredient-led cuisine by chef Antonis Kyvetos. The place itself is breathtaking, situated in a garden surrounded by trees, fairy lights, warm lamps, and an old fig tree majestically dominating the scene.
The cocktails at Marlen are both original and classic, setting you in a perfect mood immediately. Each original cocktail comes with a fun, sometimes romantic, story. Be sure to try the Tyrtakus (gin, cucumber, basil, and ginger cream) or a spicy Margherita.
Chef Antonis’ cuisine truly shines with its exquisite, original, exciting, modern, and fun dishes that celebrate hyper-seasonal ingredients. Each bite is an expression of the island’s flavors. Highlights include:
Local goat cheese with candied baby figs (from their tree!) and almonds. Red mullet ceviche with citrus, taramasalada, and basil. Grilled aubergine with potato, melon, feta cheese, Florina pepper, lemon verbena, and hazelnut, featuring fermented melon water that will blow your mind.
We returned to Marlen several times and have...

This July, my family and I took a trip for my father’s 80th birthday to visit the island. We came expecting beautiful views and good food but what we found at Marlen was pure enchantment. Coming from New York City we’ve been spoiled by world-class cuisine and breathtaking settings, yet we were not prepared for this. Marlen Carrer felt like stepping into a dream—where every detail of the evening, from the flavors of the uniquely film-themed cocktails to the hand-crafted light fixtures, was lovingly and thoughtfully curated. Perched on the beach, this gem has the most gorgeous sunset with the softest breeze. The staff is warm and attentive—from Antonis in the kitchen, creating exquisite dishes that burst with flavor and nuance, to Antonis on the floor, topping off your wine as he curates an effortlessly eclectic soundtrack that floats through the air. It’s impossible not to be awestruck by the restaurant’s beauty, all while feeling as though you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
It was a night we’ll never forget. We all agreed it was our favorite dinning experience to date.
Make your way to Marlen. You’ll be so...
