Food was poor. I attended this restaurant on Saturday 8th June on the recommendation of my girlfriend's family who had attended this restaurant many times for over 20 years, so naturally we were expecting a very nice meal. After waiting a long time for drinks to be ordered, ( due to a large party of over 20 people being in the restaurant which was understandable) our order was finally taken. I ordered roast lamb and my girlfriend ordered mixed souvlaki. When the meals were delivered, all that was on my plate was lamb and 4 roast potatoes ( picture attached for information). To say that I was disappointed with this meal was an understatement. I had expected the lamb to have been accompanied at least by some vegetables, or salad or rice but not to have only had the minimum items on the plate as described. In relation to my girlfriend's meal, she pointed out to one of the waiters that there was no lamb at all in her mixed souvlaki dish to be met with the response' are you sure you haven't eaten it?' On further complaint, another member of staff asked if we wanted the pieces of lamb added, or would 2 lamb chops be acceptable instead. The waiter was polite and did provide the chops to my girlfriend, however, this does not negate the fact that I thought my own dish was poor both on presentation and on content, hence the 2 star rating I feel is necessary in this case. I understand that the restaurant was very busy that evening but it still was the fact that my own gastronomic order was of a poor standard, particularly when compared to other similar restaurants that we had dined at in Kalamaki that week, and while I'm sure that many customers have had very fine food here, my own experience was not one that I would...
Read moreI stumbled upon this lovely tavern just a few meters from the crystal-clear beach in Kalamaki, and what a perfect start to my holiday it was. After landing, I dropped off my bags, took a refreshing swim in the sea, and while walking back toward town, I found this little gem.
I ordered fried calamari and a cold beer, and it was absolute bliss. The calamari were cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and melted in my mouth, with a light batter that was just right. Paired with an ice-cold beer, it was the ultimate moment of relaxation by the sea.
The staff was lovely and warm, adding to the charm of the place. I felt welcomed and totally at ease — exactly what you dream of when arriving in Greece.
I would definitely go back, and recommend it to anyone looking for authentic food and a peaceful seaside...
Read moreArriving at this restaurant it seemed nice, nice garden and setting, it was quiet and relaxing, anyways we order our food and one of the plates on our table which was the grilled lamb was served cold confirmed by all people at the table, it was also very tough and was hard to separate, we asked if we could get it warmed up which they did, it was still inedible so we requested a different plate, once we did the owner walked up to our table and started an argument with us (customers) which you never do… he gave us a whole explanation on how he served 15 plates that day and how it was our fault the food was very poor. Anyways he got us another dish and the only good thing was the sausage, everything else was unseasoned and super dry, don’t waste your time here as you will leave...
