Hotel Ilulissat Rooftop — Restaurant in Avannaata

Food isn’t bad but it isn’t something to write home about. You’re there to pay for to eat the view, not the food. Only hotel that lost my reservation. I phoned in advance and made reservations at 2 other restaurants and those all went without a hitch on the date and time scheduled. Ilulissat Rooftop is the only place that said they had no record of a reservation. So I had to wait for another day.

View is spectacular. It’s a bird eye view of Ilulissat when you go out to open air rooftop area.

staff/team mean well, so if you go in prepared to eat the view, temper the expectations on food quality, you’ll be happy! To me the food, in taste and in presentation, was diner quality.

We had an amazing meal! Snow crab legs were delicious and we all ordered triple meat sampler. Service was great until they got a huge party, so two eaters were struggling, but we understand. Otherwise, waters were very friendly and attentive (prior to the large party arriving). We got seated at the window.
