Visited this restaurant recently and unfortunately experienced food poisoning, so I want to share my honest feedback.
Positives: The restaurant has an appealing ambiance, beautifully designed with mid-century modern decor, and the plating is visually impressive. Its location in Zona 13 is convenient.
Experience: Upon arrival around 9 PM (they close at 10 PM), we felt a bit rushed from the start. Within the first five minutes, we were approached by three different staff members asking what we wanted to order, without any greeting or warm welcome. It felt abrupt and impersonal, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. One of the first remarks we received was, “The kitchen closes in 45 minutes, so what do you want?” which set an uncomfortable tone.
We quickly ordered drinks— a gin melon cocktail and a mezcal-based drink. Both turned out to be overly sweet. For food, we tried the Loco Crab Tostón (bland and unfinished; the sauce was its only highlight), Piqueo Limeño (the standout of the night wonderfully breaded pork belly over mashed potatoes and dressed in pickled onions), ramen (generous pork serving but tasted more like sancocho rather than ramen, and we weren’t given a spoon until requested. When it did come, it was a regular spoon), and the Nikkei Roll (decent but more ceviche-like than sushi). The lack of clear communication or description, both in-person and online, made it hard to discern if this was a Latin-Asian fusion restaurant or something else.
Despite the rushed service, we noted that by the time we left, there were still three or four other tables occupied.
Aftermath: What started as a questionable experience turned into a nightmare. Both my partner and I fell ill and spent the night battling for the bathroom. The following day at the airport was equally distressing, constantly searching for the nearest restroom until we arrived at our destination. It was, without exaggeration, one of the worst travel days we’ve ever had, and it stemmed from this dining experience.
Final Thoughts: While the restaurant’s aesthetics and the Piqueo Limeño were memorable, the overall experience left a lasting negative impression. I wouldn’t revisit, and I suggest others exercise caution when...
Read moreThis place is charging 5 star prices and serving sub par quality food with unfriendly service. You can tell the employees don’t want to be working. We waited 1.5 hrs for 2 sushi rolls and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. I’ve had sushi from all parts of the world and this place in my opinion needs a realty check. I can get better sushi at a gas station. I...
