Niquito — Restaurant in Guatemala City

It is a beautiful concept. The quality of the food is top of the line. They offer several food options, that are outstanding. Drinks are very good too.

Unfortunately, if you go with a large group of people it will be a disastrous experience. We were a party of 16 with a reservation (a friend's B-day party).

Overall, we spend about $1k just in drinks (mostly wine), which was good. Since we had the bottles handy, it was easy to get your glass refill.

But, any other drink, did take about 30 minutes to be prepared and brought to you. Outrageous.

There was a case that a "Sandia" drink took almost 90 minutes to get to us (we reminded the staff 6 times about the drink). For a place such as this that it's targeted market is supposed to be the elite and the wealthy, this is completely unacceptable.

Also, they ran out of forks, yes forks! so we had to use spoon for some dishes (not ideal) and when they brought more forks, they were not enough for everyone.

We couldn't use different forks for different dishes, altering the overall experience of each dish and it's profound experience in your senses.

This cause an overall sensation within the party, that the place was not properly staff for us.

For the price we paid, the food amazing, the service was deficient at best.

The waiters did their best, but clearly they were overrun by the regular tables and our party.

I would recommend for you to try the food, but not to celebrate a party/reception in this location.

Niquito’s atmosphere is unique, you will appreciate the architecture as well as the art and details found within the restaurant. Staff is super friendly and helpful! A truly incredible dining experience. From the vibe, music, food, wine and team looking after you this is a must go if you’re in Guatemala.

Hector was amazing at looking after us and the food was delicious and perfectly balanced.
