Really really disappointed with the food. We went there first in the afternoon to check out the place and have a look at the menu. The restaurant is super basic, the lady very nice. There were no prices on the menu so we asked what the Tapado cost. 130, more expensive than others but if it is good as the reviews say then oke. But it did bug me a bit that we did not get a menu with prices especially because as foreigners we often get overcharged. But the lady was so nice and welcoming we went back. The Gallio was 18 which is expensive for a place like this so we skipped that. The Tapado tasted ok, not mindblowing but we haven't eaten it before so no comparision. The veggie chowmin was exceptionally bad. The only thing I could taste was soy and pepper. And that cost 60. Sorry 60 for some noodles and vegetables and too much soy. That's when I got the feeling that we had paid the foreigners price. I learned my lesson . Don't go if you...
Read moreNOT RECOMMENDED. I don't know how this place got such good reviews. When we arrived there was a small that I think later was evident why. We sat down outside first and noticed that the table had some rat poop. But we said is outside let's ignore it. We ordered a variety of dishes including fried fish, chao mein, tapado, caracol, and pollo guisado. For rainy reasons we had to move inside and then we saw again that the tables had more rat poop 😭 but was too late to leave. We had to wait for more than an hour for our food, as the cook was alone. So, food wise, only tapado had some flavor while the others were terrible. The traditional rice and beans had no coconut flavor so it was disappointing. Later on one of my friends she said she saw the rat coming down the stairs 😩. The next day one person in our group got really sick with diarrea. Definitely would not come back and do not recommend it. Menu doesn't have prices so is...

The Tapado Mixto is to die for. It has fried fish, fresh ship and crabs, and a delicious green sauce with green bananas. It was the best dish I had in over two months in Guatemala (I literally returned the next day to order it again). We also had the Pescado ala Plancha and Daraza con Pollo Orniado (a Garifuna version of tamale served with BBQ chicken) and it was so good I forgot to take a picture of it before we ate it all.
It’s a little pricy for Livingston, but everything is made to order and super fresh that the price is justified. Since the food is made to order, you can customize things as you’d like. I have a garlic allergy and it has been accommodated every time with no issue.
Ohhh the Guifiti is delicious and served like tequila with salt and lime....
