I went recently to the Gouffre and have some comments to make.

The food was very good and very tasty. No complaints there. There was a very young boy working the till and there was an annoying adult man who kept calling his name over and over. All I could hear was “Teddy” or “Theo,” wasn’t sure what his name was exactly. Either way, it really grated my gears.

Another thing I wanted to mention was the seating. I am a heavier set person and the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Having no armless options means that not only was eating here quite painful but it also means that I won’t be able to bring other friends of mine here as they have wider hips than me. Just a few armless chairs around the restaurant would make all the difference. Otherwise it’s an embarrassment for a heavier set person waiting to happen and it will undoubtedly put them off returning. It’s also not very accessible for a lot of people with physical disabilities.

I have no other qualms and do recommend this restaurant. If you don’t have the repetitive name calling situation or if you are of a smaller size, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this...

Very warm greeting when we arrived. Drinks were served swiftly whilst we perused the menu. Lots of Tapas options, meat, seafood and vegetable dishes. We had a complimentary plate of Patatas Fritas with a yummy gravynaise sauce. Our dish choices were, garlic and parsley mushrooms, a lovely mix of mushroom, not too over powering with garlic, just right. Calamari with sweet chilli dipping sauce, scallops with bacon and pea purée, vegetable paella and bbq ribs. 3 dishes each. Perfect amount of food to share. The setting is beautiful, in the valley looking out to sea. There is a spacious outdoor area. It would be a perfect place to hold an intimate function. I noticed on the blackboard, they do a Sunday roast, I will be back to try it. Very lovely welcoming staff. Beautiful decor inside. Would...

Can't comment on the food as we didn't get that far. I don't usually leave bad reviews but this was one of the worst hospitality experiences I have ever had. We were a large group (9) and saw there were plenty of free tables outside at lunchtime, so sat on the large picnic table. After a bit of wait a waitor came over and said, are you here for food? We said yes, to which he smirked(!) and walked inside. More of a wait followed, so one of our party went inside to get some menus, and was asked by the manager (blonde lady) who was really rude and abrupt - Did you not think to book if there are so many of you? As we were about to leave she did come out (still no ounce of friendliness!) to say they could do us some sandwiches if we ordered now but the damage had already been done so we...

Firstly, i don't usually do reviews, but this place deserves some recognition!! Having not long moved to the island I've been stumbling on an array fantastic restaurants (all unique in their own right) and this hidden gem certainly disappoint! Completely different to what I would normally choose but it really does leave you wanting to come back. A friendly and personal welcome from Nick the owner, and a very enjoyable selection of Tapas dishes. HIGHLY recommend! Thank you for me feel so welcome, I will be definitely be returning!

Went for lunch Took nearly an hour for our food to come, lots of people asking "where's our food" Waiters said it's because we are busy, but didn't tell us beforehand My wife tried to cancel order but was refused Game over for this place for us If you do chance a visit go when it's cold and raining there might be nobody there and you might get served quicker The proprietor was there but seemed uninterested in the chaos and people being told half the menu was unavailable...
