Excellent place to visit give yourself a couple of hours to really take it all in.This is spread over a quite large area and is packed full with artifacts.Mr. Heume who runs the museum has collected a vast array of exhibits and first hand accounts of the occupation from islanders who lived through it. There is also a section on the forced evacuation of the Jewish community and Islanders who were sent to concentration camps- please take in the enormity of this. Lovely tea room I can certainly recommend the Guernsey Ga^che with Occupation Jam! ( trust me it's really scummy😋) Lots of vehicles to see too this must have taken years to collect and visit the 1940's Guernsey street with shops and a typical Guernsey kitchen.

We've always loved this museum and visit whenever we come to the island. A five star ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ visit again. Thank...

This museum is an absolute treasure. It offered so much more than I never expected to see. Overall, it could use a little sprucing up and the opening video feels like it was likely made in the 1980’s and has not been updated since. Of course, the information is all from the 1940’s, so it is all still totally accurate. But still, it is the one lame element. After sitting through the video on the very small television, also likely from the 1980s, just set out and explore all of the items. Hundreds and hundreds of items to see. Uniforms, vehicles, clippings, weapons, you name it and they have collected it. At times I found myself just staring at something and thinking that I cannot believe I am face to face with something I have heard about in history books. You can spend a good hour here, and a true history lover...

What an interesting insight as to how life was on Guernsey during the occupation. It makes you realise just how close the Germans got to invading the UK mainland. Lots of artifacts and photographs from around the island giving a good idea of what went on during those years. It's clear that a lot of work has gone into the this historic collection - a great preservation of the past. A very interesting morning for me and my family followed by a nice cup of tea and a slice of gâche in the onsite cafe.

Definitely worth a visit.

Oh! and one more thing, just bear in mind that it is a CASH ONLY place so don't get your knickers in a twist if you forget to go to the cash point before visiting - there are no card...

Probably the finest collection of artefacts from Guernseys occupation by the Germans in WWII. All personally collected by the wonderful Richard Heaume. Uniforms, weapons, posters, paintings, recreated street, field kitchen, letters, photographs newspapers, radios and much more. Over 12,000 German troops were stationed on Guernsey. The personal recollections of islanders under the cruelty of the invaders with imprisonment, deportation, murder and treatment of slave labourers is also exhibited. There is a lovely tea room, garden and a brilliant shop. Incredibly interesting and fantastic value.

A MUST SEE, wonderful small museum telling the fascinating but grim story of the German occupation of Guernsey and liberation by the Allies in WWII. The thousands of artifacts and documents are displayed very well to give you an insight into the dreadful hardships suffered by so many, the deportation of people to German concentration camps, the persecution of the Jews and other minorities, the slave Labour used to construct defences and finally the utter relief of liberation. Do watch the films in the first room and in 'The Street' area.
