Caving under budapest — Restaurant in Budapest

This was such a fun, unique experience! I was apprehensive because I’d never done anything like that before but our guide Szilard was amazing and gave us all tips on how to navigate and manoeuvre our ways through the tight spaces in the cave. We took frequent breaks where he shared interesting information on the geology of the caves and facts about caving.

It was challenging but isn’t too difficult as long as you’re not completely unfit and doesn’t require too much strength or stamina. They provide overalls with really good grip which help when you’re hauling yourself up some slippery rock. A lot of the reviews say to go in shoes with good traction, but I went in my converse chucks (which was all I had) and they worked just fine. Definitely worth a shot when you’re in Budapest! It’s one of the most fun things I’ve ever done...

amazing experience! definitely not one to miss. full of adventure and adrenaline me and my siblings had the best time. this was our favourite thing we did in budapest. made friends with others in the group and our tour guide had us laughing the whole time. very entertaining and funny he kept us from panicking about the adrenaline of being 300ft underground We slid, crawled, wiggled, sang made friends with the group and learned a lot in the caves. I’d recommend shoes you don’t mind getting dusty and tie your hair back but low for the helmet. Also don’t wear a jumper under the provided suit, it gets warm and sweaty crawling around...

An amazing, really adventurous experience! No prior experience needed, just some comfortable clothes and closed shoes (just make sure they have a good grip). If you're afraid of heights and/or narrow spaces, this might not be the right place for you. But if you want to overcome your fears, it's perfect for beginners. Our tour guide Andrew did an amazing job and you can definitely feel safe with him. He always thinks one step ahead and is really funny as well.
