Gyugyi's Bistro Normafa — Restaurant in Budapest

Excellent place, perfect to eat before heading on towards the Children's Train. The food was awesomely good-looking and so tasty, much appreciated. We needed to wait about 45 minutes, which might sound like absolutely too much, but we were a family of four, and we all ordered complicated recipes, so ot migjt be understandable, although still too much. The portions were generous. The staff was kind, and spoke english fluently, so kudos, and highly advised for tourists. The menu is also in English, although it could use some revising. The place was good looking, the surroundings were silent and the toilets were clean; our lunch was only disturbed by a housefly trying to get ahold of our food. What to improve? Waiting times. Tasty food, but really slow service and small portions. When we came, there were only 4 other guests, but still it took cca 40 minutes to get our two portions. Eventhough the food was good, we had to buy sandwich in shop near by, because it was not enough. Waiter automatically added 15% service tip to the bill. We were not asked about that, we didn't even see it in the menu (but we might overlooked it). Waiter mentioned that the card maschine is not working upon arrival, but there was group of customers paying by card later. While we paid, card maschine was again "not working". A friend and I stumbled upon this place whilst looking for some sustenance during an afternoon run. The gentleman that served us was really friendly and we were pleasantly surprised with the fancy choices on the menu considering the unassuming appearance of the bistro. My friend was also happy that they could cater to his veganism (something we'd found tough in Budapest). When our food arrived we were both blown away with how well presented and delicious it was!
