We visited here twice.
First we came for food and waited over 50 minutes for the food to come in an empty restaurant, maybe 2 other tables as well as us. I had the chicken snitzel and it wasn’t great, over cooked and chewy. Was not worth the wait. My husband had the pasta and that was good.
The second time we came for drinks in an evening with friends, 2x Hungarians and 2x English. The cocktails are very good but we were sat in the car park at the back and was not allowed to sit in the front for just drinks, the young girl who served us was extremely rude, eye rolling, and very impatient when we were ordering our drinks, my husband asked her a question in Hungarian for our English friend and she couldn’t be bothered to answer. She even had us clear our own table and serve our own drinks as she couldn’t be bothered to walk around the table and give each person their drink.
Update the owner did contact me and was very apologetic and offered us a free lunch. This made a huge improvement on our customer service experience! Thank you for making an active gesture to improve...
Read moreOmg you have to eat here! Not pizza, though, which is what you'll get if you turn up after 8.30pm. The pizzas were cooked in a dish, so had a uniform appearance, not that hand stretched look. Didn't try it, just saying they didn't look good.Portions are huge, so be hungry. Great service (they add 10 per cent on at the end) You can eat outside, or, in 2 rooms separated by the open kitchen. We ordered duck liver with cognac and beef tartare for starters. Came with fresh bread, a bit like Turkish bread, one topped with cheese! A very interesting spiced pear kind of chutney/ pickle, was delicious. Mains - tagliatelle with forest mushrooms and duck. The duck was overcooked, but the rest great. Duck breastfeeding with sweet potato was cooked to perfection and everything on the plate complimented it well. Had to get a tiramisu for dessert, which was fantastic and huge, so you only need to share it. Friendly attentive service. Food takes about 45 minutes but worth the wait. Prices are great. Well done Flamingo Bistrobar!...
Read moreA wonderful dining experience! We visited Flamingo Restaurant in Eger on a late Sunday afternoon and were truly impressed.
We ordered the deer soup, which was absolutely delicious – perfectly seasoned and served with warm bread. A real delight! We also had a burger, which was outstanding, and gnocchi with chicken and gorgonzola – everything was incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented.
The service was excellent – the staff were kind, attentive, and very helpful. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any cash with us and couldn’t leave a tip, which we truly wanted to do, as the service fully deserved it – and sadly, tipping by card wasn’t possible.
If we ever return to Eger, we’ll definitely come back to Flamingo Bistro. Highly recommended – amazing food, great atmosphere, and...
