After 6 days on Route 1 going North-East-South it was fantastic to find this gorgeous bakery. We had gorgeous freshly baked crusty rye rolls with ham and cheese and two of their specialities: cinnamon buns and an almond slice (you can only buy a half or a whole one) but as we were staying in a local Air BnB that was perfect. We also bought some fantastic sour dough rye bread to take away. The quality of thief freshly baked bread and treats is second to none! There is a small seated area and they serve filter coffee and tea. Service is excellent and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. Cosy local bakery. Loved the almond croissant we bought as takeaway from here. Other local pastries looked delicious as well, with an array of croissant and bread sandwiches. We picked chicken sandwich. It was OK, but on the pricey side at about 2500ISK, considering the filling could have been more generous. So happy to come across this jewel in the lovely town of Selfoss. Spacious modern interior decorated with rocknroll, sports and comics theme arts and memorabilia. Fresh-baked breakfast varieties are deliciously attractive. I was on the run and only had an Irish Coffee cinnamon bun. Wow, it simply melts in my mouth without losing the taste of its delicate ingredients, not too sweet, not too thick, just perfect.
