This place is brilliant, it easily deserves a 5 star rating. I found it whilst browsing Google Maps after a long road trip along the south coast. And what a find it was! The restaurant is in a small old-style house with two stories for seating, and it's very cosy. Don't mistake cosy for cramped, as the tables are still nicely spaced and you don't feel crammed in like you do in some "cosy" restaurants. The place looked busy when we walked inside, but we were instantly were given a table for our family of five upstairs. There is a wide selection of food, including pizza, burgers, salads, fish and chips, and some other local dishes, along with some great starters (deep fried brie is now my favourite food!). Service was quick, receiving our starters promptly and mains not long after. The food was absolutely delicious, there wasn't a single thing I ate that I thought was below good. I had the fish and chips, and it was some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. That means a lot, coming from a Brit! If I return to Iceland in the future (which I intend to), I'm definitely going to...
Read moreEveryone at Kaffi Krús is extremely friendly and polite and the service is wonderful. Don't speak Icelandic but can speak English? Don't worry, everyone speaks at least some English which should make your experience as smooth as ever.
The food at Kaffi Krús is delicious, fresh and of high quality with a variety of foods to choose from. Love a good pizza? The pizzas here are fantastic with a large variety of choices.
However, pizza isn't the only thing they have on the menu, there's also things such as seafood options, salads, burgers, and more! There's even a menu with options just for kids so there's plenty to choose from for the whole family.
Possibly the most popular part of Kaffi Krús is the desserts. Homemade and fresh is what it's all about and are some of the best tasting desserts in Iceland in my opinion.
This place is so good I know I'm going to keep coming...
Read moreWe visited the place twice during our stay in Iceland for dinner. There is a wide range of food to choose from fish, butgers or pizza. You also have a great selection of sweets to have with your coffee. We were a group of 16 people and we found a spot to sit both times (split in two). Prices were average for Iceland so expect to pay around 30+ euros per person. We had fish of the day, which was Ling, the second time was Salmon, but we didn't try. It was served with grilled vegetables, and it was really tasty. We also tried Tower Burger. It was excellent with a strong taste of garlic, which we loved, but if you dont like garlic, maybe choose something else. Finally, we tried the signature pizza. It was also tasty but a bit too heavy. If you order, eat while...
