The lobster is super smooth and tender. It may be added to the left side of the prawns with minced garlic, which is very fragrant. It is the best and most special among the local lobsters (Australia, Boston, Vietnam) that I temporarily travel to eat! In addition, the lobster soup is special , and it is a little more liquid, but the lobster taste is very strong.😋There will be a few balls of lobster meat in the soup, which is also very tender and smooth😋, this bowl of soup can definitely drink a few bowls without getting tired! On the day of the fish, it was all cod (the trip to Iceland has surpassed the sum of the cod I ate in my previous life), and the taste of the fish is even better than the one I have eaten in Iceland before😱 Finally, try the special dessert skyr volcano. As the name suggests, it will be like a volcano. The black granules of volcanic rock are really like the entrance of the rock, and it will disperse when you press on it. It is interesting and the taste is not bad. the staff very helpful and really nice.❤️

I've waited two years to dine at this restaurant due to pandemic delaying our trip. It was well with the wait!!!! The restaurant is in a converted warehouse however, it still manages to be warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly and efficient!! We arrived at 5p and had plenty of choices for seating. Be careful, though, because by 5:30p the top floor was full. My daughter had the catch of the day which was cod in a cheese sauce. If fish and cheese does not appeal to you, then you would be missing out on a wonderful dish. I had the langoustine oven baked. It was tremendous!!! Huge portions and tasty sides as well!! We split the licorice creme brulee even though neither of us are big fans of licorice (we are big fans of creme brulee though!!). This dessert was excellent. The licorice flavor was subtle and not overpowering. It was perfect. There was vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce with the brulee. It was really rather tasty too!!! If your travels take you to Hofn, you MUST eat here. !!

My personal favorite restaurant in all of Iceland, for the price, atmosphere, and food. The lamb here is the best lamb I’ve ever had. The lamb was seared perfectly with a nice gentle crust on the outside. The meat was cooked medium and was so juicy and flavorful. The sauce that was served as excellent. Very savory and just wonderful. The vegetables were a nice touch and the mashed potatoes were very smooth and creamy. A 10/10 dish for sure. I also had the lobster which to my surprise was cooked very well. A little pricey and very tender. Different than lobster that I’ve eaten in the US. The butter and brown sauce paired well and I really liked the dish as a whole. Potatoes were great and I liked the light creme fraiche that was served along with the scallions. Atmosphere was very inviting and they were nice to us even though we were late. One of my favorites restaurants that I have been to. I would definitely choose this place if you are on the fence.

Last night, we dined at Restaurant Pakkhús, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, cozy atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The restaurant offers stunning views, which added a breathtaking backdrop to our meal. The menu was diverse, but the Lamb and the Lobster were absolute standouts. The Lamb was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The Lobster was equally impressive, fresh and succulent, with a rich, buttery taste that made every bite a delight. Beyond the fantastic food, the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making our evening special. We never felt rushed, yet our needs were always anticipated. Overall, Restaurant Pakkhús delivered on every front. Whether you’re there for a romantic dinner or a special occasion, you’re in for an exceptional dining experience.

As far from the Red Lobster a seafood restaurant can be, while still be called a seafood restaurant... Pakkhús was originally built in 1932 as a warehouse, mainly from scrap wood of other houses. The interior is nicely decorated, even if the building does not look as much from the outside. Pakkhus is one of the very few restaurants that show their main ingredient source – the langoustine (Icelandic lobster) comes fresh, straight from Sigurdur Olafsson SF44, the red ship often seen just outside the restaurant window. Höfn is known for langoustine and is often called the capital of langoustine in Iceland. A good drive from Vic, but with rewarding views. The waiters were knowledgeable on the menu and the ingredients, and ready to help with the kids menu choices. The food was outstanding, and as far from the Red Lobster menu a seafood restaurant can be, while still be called a seafood restaurant. Highly recommend the langoustine soup.

We just had a fantastic meal at Pakkhus. They don't take reservations. The place was slammed; it was a Monday night in August. My son and I came in around 19:15 pm and we were told the wait was 45 mins. We were given a buzzer and went downstairs for a drink. I've been so lucky on this vacation. I slid into a parking spot, we slid into the last two seats in the bar.....🤞I tried the Viking classic, which was a gluten free beer and quite unexpectedly delicious. My son and I ordered the calamari special, which was one large and semi raw? Squid body with a spectacular sauce on it. We then split the buttered lobster dish with potatoes, a tiny piece of corn, bearnaise sauce and butter to dip. It was fantastic. We got 4 tails, but depending on the size, you may get 3. We then moved to dessert. Son had ice cream w/ chocolate globe and fresh caramel sauce. 🤤 Killer!!
