During the first and second day of my stay on Neil Island, I had my lunch from Dugong. Located inside the beautiful grounds of Sea Shell, Dugong has a nice ambiance, and it's adjacent to a beautiful garden. The neatly arranged bar counter blends well with the restaurant. The interiors of the restaurant were appealing. On the first day, my visit was around 3:30 p.m. The entire restaurant was empty. My order was for a Vegetable Biryani and a glass of Lemonade. The aroma of the Biryani was savory. The vegetables were in their best texture. I enjoyed every spoon of it along with the raita. The quantity was sufficient for 1-2 persons. I managed to finish the whole bowl. This was definitely one of the best Biryani's I have ever had. The Lemonade was refreshing and tasted good. On the second day, I visited around 1:45 p.m. Guests from the resort occupied most of the tables at the restaurant. My order was for a couple of Wheat Rotis, Dal Makhani, and once again a glass of Lemonade. The Dal Makhani with a dash of lemon was delicious. The Wheat Rotis tasted excellent with it. On both days, their staff was courteous and made sure everything was right with my order. Good food takes time! It took around 20 minutes for my order to reach my table on both days. Pricing of the dishes on their menu is expensive. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for tasty food on...

The staff was very quick in their service and informed us properly on the availability of seafood and other items on the menu.
We ordered the prawns ginger garlic (a Chinese preparation) which was really tasty and quite palatable by young children as well. Next, we ordered the butter garlic red snapper fish which was huge and also quite delicious and properly cooked. We also had the crab but it was a bit mushy (maybe over cooked), but was sweet. The side dishes were of good size and we were very full after our meal.
In drinks, we tried the Apple Jack and Pina Colada, both of which were very yummy.
The restaurant is on the pricey side, but if you want to have one splurge meal then you could eat here,...
Read moreThe food was good, the ambience was great (the singer especially), the service sucked. I had an international credit card that I disclosed upfront to make sure that the restaurant could process them since I have faced issues with them in India before. I even offered to make an initial transaction to make sure that the credit card would work later but I was assured of the restaurants ability to process them, by the server. After a ₹6000 bill, the billing machine used by the server had issues with multiple international cards used and we ended up having to use a backup card that had issues tacked to it further inconveniencing us. I understand that the experience was subjective and other people will probably have a fine experience but it was not a fun time for us and unfortunately ruined the...
