Firstly, I'll say I was deceived by the pictures. I had quite high hopes from the ambiance, but when I went it, it got divided by four. So, the Ambiance over all was fine, it's good in the evening hours when they switch on the lights, kinda fancy that way. It's super neat, tidy and organized, a complete "Monica Place".
Secondly, coming to the food, it's unreasonably overpriced. I mean, I had a pizza worth 525, which somehow they rounded up to 630, when the pizza was the only thing I had. I wouldn't have been so disappointed with the price if the pizza had been good, but hardly did it fall under the definition of pizza. I specifically told them not to put tomatoes in the toppings which they did. Then the crust tasted just like having butter naan. It was like naan topped with cheese and cheese sausage, giving it a complete butter naan flavor. My second worst pizza, seriously. And the service is kinda slow too. Am never going there again.

The last time I went there, I got ill. And in spite of asking them to sanitize our table and chairs, they couldn't and didn't have the necessary stuff for sanitization. The cleaner was untrained, and was wiping the chair vaguely with a dirty cloth. The poor waiters had masks that were loose and falling off from one side.
So now I really want to go there to enjoy the coffee and cutlet, but am terrified to do so.

Read moreI must say, Guwahati boasts of niche Cafes and restaurants with ample space, good food, party vibes, good music and yet not much attention is given to the need for solitude of the people..to just have a cup of tea and not having to drown in a swarm of loud conversations is all I need to enjoy my time in a Cafe. Cafe Shillong is exactly that. They offer a good variety of tea..their food items are selective and great. The staff do their best. After a long party night out in a weekend, you can kill off your Monday blues at The Shillong Cafe. Parking options for four wheelers can be an issue and it's not...
