I had dinner last night at 1947 Hennur, and it turned out to be a really pleasant experience. If you’re looking for a good North Indian dining spot in this part of town, this place is definitely worth considering. The menu was quite decent, offering a good range of vegetarian North Indian dishes. While it’s not an extremely elaborate spread, the items they do offer are well thought out and more importantly, full of flavor. The food had that authentic desi taste that’s often missing in many so-called North Indian places. One of the highlights of the evening was the Papdi Chaat—it was crispy, tangy, and well-balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. All the dishes we tried were fresh and tasted homely, not overloaded with oil or masala. The service was smooth and efficient, with the staff being polite and attentive without hovering. Even though it was a weekend, we were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait time, which made the entire experience more relaxing. Another big plus was the pricing. With a Swiggy Dineout offer, the total came to just under ₹1150 for two people, which is honestly a steal for the quality and quantity of food we got. It’s rare to find such value these days, especially in a sit-down restaurant with good ambiance and service.

Such a great experience dining at 1947 in Hennur. The ambience, the service and the food were top notch! It’s a vegetarian’s paradise. One of the few Indian fine dining restaurants that is 100% vegetarian and this in my opinion was fine dining on a great budget. My mother is a pure vegetarian and prefers only vegetarian restaurants, so we took her there and she absolutely loved it! We opted for a buffet and it was just around ₹600 each. I’m normally skeptical about hygiene and cleanliness at buffet restaurants but this experience was absolutely amazing - they served everything at the table so we didn’t have to walk around with our plates. All cutlery are brass and were served in thali-styled plates. They have an extensive menu - live counter serving chats and pasta, appetisers - paneer, baby corn, cauliflower, etc. sides - papad, chutneys, pickles, raita, main course - breads, 4-5 curries, dal, biryani, steam rice, curd rice, oriental main course - fried rice, noodles, gravy, desserts - 4 types of ice cream, Gulaab jamun, peda and more. More than one can eat. They also have a la carte options. Will definitely visit again.

This place in Hennur is absolute treat for veg lovers from beautiful ambience to amazing food and polite behaviour of staff.. We first was absolutely delighted with beautiful ambience with some of freedom fighters photo and amazing lighting too. We first took Palak chat and Amritsar chole chat. Palak chat was perfect with spice and good amount of curd it was great for summer to eat this and Amritsari chole was beautiful the chole was boiled to perfection and masala was perfectly matching loved this on chats.. And we took starters paneer tikka.tili mili baby corn and Hussain potato this was so good and also I loved tomato soup here too in starters.. Next we took roti with malai kofta and punnet butter masala. Paneer was soft in the curry and bit sweet side too and malai kofta it had green peas inside it was good match for roti as a gravy. And also they have Chinese items too with noodles and garlic fried rice can try this too.. Also not to forget in desserts Chikmagalur coffee ice cream and Zauq e Sahi which is must try here..

Latest update: reducing the rating to 1 coz of your extra efforts to prove that I haven’t ordered from your outlet. The same effort could have been made towards food quality n better customer service. Have the modesty to accept your mistakes. Attaching the screenshots of the order placed from Swiggy. I believe there is no other restaurant named 1947 in Geddalahalli. My friends and family are really surprised by your response and your efforts in proving me wrong. I was at the least hoping that dine in experience would be better. Post your efforts in putting me down, me and my closed ones would never even consider you as an option!!!!! Phewww, great customer care.

Swiggy order dates: 31 Aug 2024 and 12 Oct 2024 To 1947 restaurant: For your kind information I had not mentioned the date of online order as 18dec 2024 to 22 Dec, I had mentioned the range as Nov-Dec but now since you are very much interested, I have mentioned the exact date and platform used.

31 Aug-Dec 2024 experience: I ordered food delivery twice from Swiggy as I had very good experience with my earlier dine in. But sad to say that quality and quantity both have gone down very badly, 2nd time delivery was the worst experience. In all 3 experiences I had ordered onion chilli fried rice which was absolute delight the first time became a nightmare 3rd time. Rice quality, food quantity also has gone down. Definitely it’s not on my re-visit or re-order list. 3months journey from wonderful to worst experience!!! Phewww Reducing the food rating to 2

06 Aug 2024 experience: Had visited this place on weekday for lunch with family. Experience was really pleasant with tasty food, good service and ambience.

Due to some dietary restrictions, we placed special order for my father with very less salt, no ghee/butter and very less oil. The chef ensured that food adhered to this restriction while not compromising with the taste. Each dish was equally flavourful and gave a satisfying experience which is usually rare with dietary restrictions.

For rest of us, we ordered a soup, 2 starters (veg lollipop n Lahori sheekh kebab) and onion chilli fried rice. Since we liked the taste and uniqueness of each dish; we ordered Subz lajawab additionally for take away. Each dish was prepared well, presented nicely and flavour of dish was highlighted (except for veg lollipop- was bit soggy and sweet). Onion chilli fried rice and Andhra style chilly Paneer(less salt version) were the stars of our order. Food portion is generous, so better to order as we progress rather than placing the entire order at once.

Staff were courteous, specifically Mr. Bilochan attended all through and took care of recommendations, service and our request promptly.

Restaurant is bit pricey but worth considering the fine...

I visited this outlet on August 2 and made payment via Zomato which failed the first time and was told by the staff it will be reversed hence I made another payment. Both times the money was deducted from my account. I patiently waited for 24 hours for money to be reversed and nothing happened so I called Zomato the next day who told me to wait 5 business days for them to investigate. After 5 days nothing happened no one contacted me hence I called Zomato and again they asked me to wait for 5 days assuring they will get this investigated and check for the missing payment and asked me to send my bank statement as well which I did. Again after waiting for another 5 days when nothing happened I contacted my bank to check for the duplicate payment that was never reversed. The bank told us that they would do a chargeback and investigate it and that I need to wait 5 more days. After 5 days when nothing happened I called the Hennur branch and discussed what had happened and he told today Rs 7499 was debited from his account. Following that I sent him screenshots of my account debited twice and he ended up accusing me the customer of being unfair to contact my bank and claim my own money because he apparently never received two payments and called me a free food loader. This kind of behaviour is a slap in guest service and I would not recommend the place at all based on my entire experience. There are many good outlets but what makes them great is the guest experience which in this branch...

Wife and I went for lunch on the weekend. Started with a few chaats and pani-puri. Followed by starters and Salads Then Main course. Deserts at the end

I was not impressed by the chaats. It was done as it had to be done but not much emotion into the prep. The taste lacked to ‘chaat’s chat-pata’. The zing was missing.

The starters were very average. Gobi Manchurian was soggy, potato wedges were chewy. There were other starters that I did not try.

The salad was very very limited in choice.

In the main course there was pachranga-dal that I liked very much and peas-pulav, which was done very well.

In the desert I tried chum-chum and Gulab-jamun. Both were ok.

While the place is new I am really concerned about their cleanliness. There were Flies all over the place. They did not even have the fly killer UV Lamps after so many days of operations. The table that we got had food marks, not wiped properly.

The team did not have common dress. Wiping cloth was lying in front of our table. The servers were either clustered in one place and talking or they were doing random walk which was not helping the guests as they had to be physically waved to get their attention.

Someone was mopping the place while guests were taking the food.

Overall I was not expecting to be in a situation as we were in. Not a...
