Title: Decent Food, Poor Service at Oia, Hennur, Bangalore
I recently visited Oia in Hennur, Bangalore, with my family and had a mixed experience. The restaurant has its strengths, but there are significant areas that need improvement.
Starting with the positives, the food at Oia was delicious. The taste was commendable, and every dish we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. However, the quantity left much to be desired. For the prices charged, the portion sizes were disappointingly small. This was especially concerning as we were dining with kids, who often have varying appetites.
The ambiance of Oia is one of its highlights. The decor is modern and inviting, creating a pleasant dining environment. The restaurant is also kids-friendly, with a spacious layout that allows for easy movement and a comfortable experience for families. Additionally, Oia offers free parking, which is a significant convenience in Bangalore, where parking can often be a hassle.
Unfortunately, the service at Oia fell short of expectations. The staff appeared disinterested and lazy, often engaging in conversations among themselves rather than attending to guests. Our attempts to order food or request assistance were met with slow and inattentive responses. It felt like we were being ignored, which detracted significantly from the overall dining experience. Efficient and attentive service is crucial in the hospitality industry, and Oia needs to address this issue to enhance customer satisfaction.
Moreover, the ordering app used by Oia is complex and slow, adding to the frustration. Navigating through the app was a cumbersome process, and it took longer than expected to place our orders. Streamlining the app and making it more user-friendly would greatly improve the ordering process.
In summary, Oia in Hennur, Bangalore, offers good food and a pleasant ambiance, making it a potentially great spot for families with kids. However, the restaurant needs to improve its service quality and address the issues with its ordering app to provide a better overall dining experience. With some improvements, Oia could become a favorite spot for many...
Read moreOia Cafe gave me a really enjoyable time with friends. We wanted a place where we could sit down, relax and enjoy a variety of food, and this spot worked out well. We ended up ordering a chicken burger, Malabar paratha, shawarma bite, mango mocktail and finally ice cream to finish the meal. Each dish brought something different to the table which made the experience more interesting.
The chicken burger was satisfying and filling. The patty was nicely cooked and had good flavor while the bun was soft but strong enough to hold everything together. It felt like a well put together burger that did not try too hard yet still delivered on taste. The Malabar paratha was one of the items I enjoyed the most. It had that light crisp on the outside with soft layers inside, making it easy to eat on its own or combine with other dishes.
The shawarma bite was flavorful and gave a nice kick of spices. It was not a heavy portion but perfect for snacking and sharing. The mango mocktail was refreshing and balanced. It was sweet in the right way and cooled everything down, especially after the rich food. Ending the meal with ice cream was the best choice. It came in a simple serving but tasted rich, creamy and satisfying. It made the whole dining experience feel complete.
The atmosphere inside the cafe added to the overall vibe. The setting is relaxed with enough liveliness to make it feel welcoming. We stayed for a while without feeling pressured to leave. Service was steady and while the food took a little time to come out, it was worth the wait once it arrived.
Portion sizes were reasonable and the pricing felt fair considering the quality and variety. What made the evening nice was the balance between good food, a laid back environment and enough variety on the menu to keep things interesting.
Oia Cafe is a spot I would happily visit again when I want a mix of casual dining and flavorful options. The food and drinks together with the ice cream at the end left me with a good impression that makes me...
Read moreOia Bangalore is a super high energy pub, wanted to try it out because we heard really good things about the ambience. We went there on a rainy day which coincidentally happened to be a dry day, all sort of transformed this into a family restaurant which was perfect for our family dinner. I'm amazed by the sheer number of staff they have right from the valet parking till waiters. It has 3 extremely stylish seating arrangements in multiple floors which gives it a super unique look overall.
All orders are placed online scanning their barcode, which is unique for each table that you get, payment is also through the same online portal as the menu once you're done which makes the interaction with waiters very minimal.
The outdoor seating arrangement was done perfectly and there were people working non stop to make sure the rain doesn't spoil our dining experience, leak proof roofing done everywhere, the rain in many ways just made the experience even more pleasant because it cooled down the temperature on an otherwise hot summer day.
Coming to the dining experience, I'd say all items we ordered, quantity wise felt a lot lesser than you'd normally expect. We ordered like 6 starters, a couple of main course dishes and the standout was the cheese kulcha, veg bao and Margherita pizza. We didn't order any mocktails but I heard that they're amazing too. The reason we were able to order a lot was because the quantity was definitely less but then again, the pricing for a restaurant with this ambience is still pretty nominal I felt.
Overall with the friendly staff, top notch ambience, mind blowing service by the staff when it comes to guiding us where to go, helping us with umbrellas, clearing out the excess water and bringing our orders, this was an unforgettable experience. We were additionally told that there's usually a wait when we get here on weekends and we're told to exclusively come on weekdays if we were planning something with family. The crowd on weekends is usually very heavy with a...
