Tried the BBK for the first time as a pickup order placed through call center.
Likes: Packaging, presentation, cleanliness, well trained staff with good personal hygenie
DISLIKES(OK OK Feel): NILGIRI MUTTON BIRYANI - Mutton pieces(juicy, tender) and rice well cooked. BUT LACKED TASTE. The one I got 30% of claypot was filled with green masala which I am still trying to figure out how it tasted.Rice quantity is very less. You are left out with a vague feeling of what exactly you ate...at one point i felt it was like Menthya Bath (Rice bath Karnataka style). At some point I felt like i had a Anna Saaru ( rice sambar) feel because of the proportion of masala VS rice was equal.
LUCKNOWI CHICKEN BIRYANI: Chicken pieces and rice well cooked. Mildly flavoured rice and full of saffron. This is my first time with Lucknow biryani. But can definitely determine how it tasted and smelled. Much better than Nilgiri. chicken pieces felt very juicy and tender. Recommend this biryani for kids and non spicy folks, but definitely not for my liking.
WEIRD: I checked online and called up generic call center, when asked for the nearest branch phone number he refused to give and insisted I place the order over the phone and even if I visit the branch i have to call the same no again to place order. Figured out it was wrong, branch staff was surprised too....GUESS the call center guy gets his commission on each order.
OVER ALL a one time try, a lot can be improved apart from spending huge amount of money on marketing. Your product esp food industry should speak for itself. Just study Meghana Foods bangalore how their Biryanis stand out.
5*'s for everything OTHER THAN the actual taste of the biryanis. Definitely not for hardcore...

I've been a loyal BBK customer for over a year, ordering every single month from the Kanakapura BBK kitchen. This is the only restaurant I’ve ever returned to this consistently — because the food used to be that good. But last night’s experience has completely shattered that trust. ❌
What I received was not Biryani. It was a strange, flavorless chicken rice dish. The chicken was an unnatural orange color, the masala was watery, and the fragrance — which once defined BBK — was completely missing. It felt rushed, careless, and frankly, unrecognizable. 😔
We could barely eat a few spoons before deciding to discard the entire order. That’s the kind of disappointment we felt. For a brand that once represented consistency and quality, this meal felt like a mockery of what BBK used to be.
I genuinely fear that the Kanakapura kitchen has lost its standards, whether in terms of recipe, quality control, or even hygiene. It’s disheartening when a place you trusted for comfort food ends up letting you down this badly.
I first tried BBK after seeing Ranveer Brar recommend it during his Bangalore visit. I was excited then — BBK felt premium, special, and satisfying. But now, after this experience, I cannot bring myself to ever order from BBK again.
Sincerely hope the brand looks into this before it loses more loyal customers. 🛑 I won’t...
Read moreWe ordered Kathal Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, Veg Hyderabadi Biryani, Veg galouti kebab and Paneer 65 from Biryani By Kilo Friday evening.
The delivery was on time. The packaging was extraordinary. I have never seen anyone deliver Biryani in a claypot! The pot was nicely sealed and the biryani was still hot!
Paneer 65 was not good. The paneer was hard and rubbery and had quite a bit of food color. Veg galouti kebab was very tasty. It was like aloo patty, but was even smoother. Yum!
Kathal Hyderabadi Dum Biryani was unbelievable! I had never eaten a Jack fruit biryani before and I absolutely loved it! The biryani had good amount of spices and the rice was fluffy. Veg Hyderabadi Biryani too had a lot of veggies and was very flavourful. The biryani was accompanied with raita and salan. They were okay. But full marks for Biryani! Definitely recommend it.
