Came to this place “Bistro claytopia” with a lot of expectations. But it all went for a toss when the experience in terms of service, food failed us.
A small entry from the road, it opens up with good seating, cramped though, some seating under the roof and some in the open. Rainy weather, but still we took up some seats in the open. Two tables pulled together to seat about 8 of us. We waited for some people to assist, but there was no one seen nearby. We managed getting our own seats. Later we had to intimate them several times to clear the table to take our orders. We had to literally go and call one person, pull him close to the table to clean it. And then too, he just took off with the glasses and plates there. Never bothered to clean the table. We waited for someone to take our order, well tht also did not happen. Again pulled one person from the corner to our table to take the order.
There was a birthday party hosted beside us, we could see the parents running every time to the waiters to help them with the arrangements and food, well what I could see was that the whole thing was managed in the worst way.
We could hear murmuring from the tables near by, getting irritated with the delay, and wrong order supply.
It started to drizzle and then we asked them to find out some seats inside, well we dint have much expectation tht they would help us, and finally we had to go searching for tables, we found some, told the guy about the change in the seats. We literally had to go searching for chairs.
We were getting irritated with the bad seating, delayed food, and no service guys around to talk to. Had to check with them about the food many times, and we still saw tht food was again been sent to our earlier tables.
Finally we got one dish after 30-40 mins, after that we were again waiting, kids were there and they were also getting irritated.
When the other food came, we just had it, we had lamb burger, pasta, margarita pizza, coffee, Asian rice combo. Food was nothing great. Coffee was too mild.
The only difference about the place was the clay pots and the painting.. We wanted the kids to do some, but the whole experience there just made us to get out of the place as fast as possible.
When you get a spoiled experience how do you enjoy food.
I hope the team reads my review and atleast take care of things there to give a better experience.
I would not suggest this place...
Read moreCalling this place HOSTILE does not even begin to describe it. The entire experience was a train wreck from the moment we stepped in. The staff were not just rude, they were arrogant, dismissive, and clearly had no intention of treating customers with a shred of respect. We were made to feel so unwanted and uncomfortable that we eventually walked out in absolute disbelief.
I asked for regular water. Just water. The waiter rolled his eyes multiple times and looked annoyed like I had asked him to do something outrageous. Every single interaction was met with attitude, as if we were an inconvenience simply for being there. The menu cars were absolutely filthy and sticky as well!
Most of the staff were hiding in the back rooms or inside rooms that clearly were not meant for customers to enter. The restaurant was dirty and poorly maintained, and barely anyone was available to help. And if we did manage to ask for something, it was either dismissed or met with more of their disgusting attitude!
There were hardly any choices for the pottery, and they expected is to magically know that the pints will be provided to our table 🤨 The glaze looked like it was of very poor quality, no amount of art skill can make the glaze look better post baking.
But the worst part...and the reason I am writing this...is because of one particular waiter. A man with red/pink hair decided it was completely fine to talk down to me, a grown woman in her twenties, and my aunt, who is nearly sixty, like we were clueless schoolchildren. He actually said, "Do you not have a seat? Why are you walking around? Go take a seat and be patient. The colours will come to you only once you take a seat. Now go to your table."
Excuse me!!?? That level of condescension and disrespect is absolutely unacceptable. Who trained this man? Or was he just dumped into the job with no knowledge of how to speak to people? It was shocking, humiliating, and enraging!!
If this is how your business chooses to treat paying customers, then you have no place in the food and service industry. The staff were poorly trained, the atmosphere was filthy, and the service was a complete disgrace!!
This was not just bad. It was offensive. I left angry, insulted, and genuinely disgusted. Shame on this place!...
Read moreI was super hyped about visiting Bistro Claytopia. The reels, word of mouth, everything, brought a lot of expectations to my mind. I had a nice time at the place, but would i visit again? Definitely not. Unless they try and optimize service in some very obvious places.
I was so excited about visiting that I made a reservation the day before through their Google Form, but it didn't even matter in the end. I turned up at the exact time I'd made a reservation for, but i ended up waiting at least 30 minutes to be seated. I expected them to go through the form responses and verify my reservation at the very least, but they didn't seem bothered. Oh well.
Everybody here is always running around, which is understandable. However, I'd expect one person to be by the reception, at least at intervals of 5 minutes to tend to new customers, but it so happened that I had to run around to look for someone who'd give me a table when one frees up 😭
Anyways, after we sat down, it took another 15-20 minutes for someone to come to our table, but only to say that somebody will come to take our order. Which took another 10. I do understand that there's a lot of people here, with food and painting requirements, but waiting for so much time honestly ruins the experience. I would definitely recommend shifting to an online ordering system. It'd be more organized, and less running around, for everyone.
The food was good, nothing too great. The Mumbai Nachos weren't the best, and we got sick of them after a point. The Siciliana Pasta was the best item we'd ordered. Required a bit more seasoning, but was yum. Excellent coffee, have to say.
The concept of painting while eating does compensate for a lot of the above stated drawbacks. The atmosphere however, isn't as relaxing as I'd expected it to be. The table arrangements have a huge role to play there. Less than 10 cm behind me was the chair of a huge family with children, so essential privacy isn't something you'd always obtain here.
I would definitely recommend visiting the place. It's an experience to have. Would recommend the restaurant to take this feedback in a positive sense and work on some of the service...
