I have been here with family and relatives on a few occasions and was generally satisfied. However, the last Saturday was a forgetful experience. We asked for Mexican sizzler and was instantly advised by the girl who took the order that "it was not nice!" Can you believe it? She insisted on us ordering the standard sizzler, and was doing the decision making for us. She seemed reluctant to suggest any continental dish, in fact. When we expressed our surprise, as to why the Mexican sizzler was showing up in the menu, "if it was not good," she was replaced by a guy, a chef, I presume who said that it is better to order north Indian dishes, as the main cook had not shown up on that day. We eat Northie food all the time and we wanted a change. But alas, that was not to happen. Eventually, considering the time and our hunger quotient, we decided to have whatever was available, in contrast to what we wanted. We asked for handi biryani and my wife confirmed if indeed, the food was being served out of a handi. The staff assured, it was. We were then surprised to see that the "handi biryani" was being served out of a plastic bowl. It transpired that the (matka) handis were being ordered and will happen soon. But till then, that is how it will be. A sad...
Read moreOne of the rare restaurants that I went thrice in a span of a month and that too to a vegetarian one to boot.
Located at Manyata NXT next to the Hilton Hotel in Manayata Tech Park.
The restaurant looks very classy both inside and outside and reminds you of the European restaurants. A lot of thought has gone into the seating which makes you feel comfortable and we enjoyed our time spent at the restaurant.
Some of the dishes that I found outstanding and worth a special mention among the ones that I tried:
Feta Greek Salad – 5/5 Vada Pav- 5/5 Special Biryani – 5/5 Sizzling Brownie – 5/5 Masala Dosa – 5/5 Coffee – 5/5 (outstanding - don't get fooled with the fine dine bit - this will beat most coffees available elsewhere hands down.)
Let me add that everything I had was very well made and good.
The menu is very exhaustive and covers Indian, Continental and Chinese. The prices are reasonable for such a fine dine restaurant.
A special shout out to the staff who is extremely courteous, attentive and provided timely service.
Ample parking is available at the basement and also the option of valet parking. Something which is at a premium.
Highly recommend and am going...
Read moreWe have always visited the Bombay Curry House and returned home with a smile on our faces and a highly satisfied palate. Not a surprising fact at all taking into account that the place is an epitome of an excellent and exhaustive vegetarian cuisine, great ambience and professional service. One of our recent visits was for lunch on my birthday. We were a group of 16 close family and friends. Mr. Vinod Uthappa, one of the two partners suggested and helped in setting the menu per our needs and taste. He had tables arranged for us outdoors. Despite being present on the premises and overseeing everything, he was warm, discreet and respectful. His partner Mr. Shyam came to us once to ensure all was well. They have several delicacies. To name a few, the soups, the Palak Patta Chat, Masala Dosa, their speciality Palak Dosa, the north Indian curries, Rotis, Latcha Parathas, Dal, Fried Rice and their mouth watering desserts such as Kulfi Falooda and authentic Italian Gelatos are runaway hits and an "icing on the cake"! We love taking our guests there, whether from town, out of town and even from overseas. Try the BCH and you...
